Anyone have end of year sales experience on the internet? I've been looking for a dip in price of a rifle I'm looking at. So far no dip, but an increase by around $14 from about 3 weeks ago.

Sales usually are done after Christmas. Unless it's a one-off thing, you're only going to be paying more from here on.

Most places also either take you on the shipping, CC fees, or FFL transfers...or some combination thereof. Your best bet is to find a local deal via Gunbroker.

I guess I missed it. A few internet stores seem to carry the item at 10-12 percent below manufacturers recommended price. I was looking to see if I could get another 5-10 percent off. One store has a Texas/Houston area location, but I believe they are sold out. Besides I would have to pay the sales tax and their FFL fee. I'll take a deep breath and chill a bit.

Buds has free shipping, but I think they'll nail me with a CC fee. That's their cash price. Cash price, does that mean money order or personal check? RichiesPNG is at $396 with around $17 shipping and no CC fee. Grabagun will charge the Texas tax. Those are all close to normal prices since I've been ckecking. No real savings. I was looking to see at least a $382 plus $17 shipping and a $15 transfer and I'd be good to go. No such luck!

Well, there's the notion of: "Buy once, cry once."

I'd feel better to just have it order and not fret over $20-30 I may/may not have saved.

It's my buy rule to physically have all the money including shipping and fees. I have $420 set in my fund. I'd already be using a FFL I've never dealt with to save from $25 to the $15 I calculated. My birthday is next month and it's possible I could get a bit more by then if I'm nice!
