How to find a reputable gunsmith (NorCal?)

I'm not sure how to approach this question, so I'll come at it from a purely selfish angle: Anyone know good a gunsmith in my area (Oakland, CA)? I've found a few with online searches, but it would be so much better if someone I trusted could recommend someone. Since I'm a far-left leaning + 2A person, I'd prefer someone that isn't a hater. :D Maybe someone here knows somebody?

Thanks in advance!

I'm sure one of our NorCal folks can help.

What do you need done? Some smiths can rebuild a vintage revolver, others build an Ar15. But few do both (well anyway).

Yeah, agreed with SG on that. I haven't had the need for a local gunsmith yet, I've sent my stuff off to either my buddy back in Colorado or the barrel manufacturers for work so far.

Petaluma is maybe a bit farther than you had in mind, but I've had good work done here, especially on rifles:

I want new sights on 2 new-ish pistols, each with its own small complication which I don't have the tools or expertise for.

Petaluma is a drive, but we have family up that way. Thanks for that.
