Customers like what?
See something, say something is just about letting the law enforcement get away with profiling by having non-cops do it.
By your description, the customer was a female that didn't know much about revolvers buying a 357 Mag. That is probably a disaster in the making.

Was in the news reports. What can I say? And in my cursory review of a Google search, you'll find lots of references.
The vid you posted also never tested the common storage method that lots of people use. Ammo cans. Which from what I understand from above Google search, can be quite explosive.

In an ammo can or not, the cartridges are still not locked into a tight steel chamber. The results will be the same. Perhaps they were stashing tannerite targets? Those may well make a nice boom...
Also, how many times have we complained about so called "reporters" getting things wrong..?

I couldn't make up my mind. I googled it this morning and thought about it and thought some more. Then I was about to think about it again and you posted!

Ammo cans are sealed with a piece of rubber gasket. That rubber will burn off way before the ammo is hot enough to ignite so the gasses from the rounds will escape and the steel can will contain all the rounds.

There is no excuse for that behavior or the actions in the story. I understand they are having financial troubles. Serves them right. karma is a bitch.
The big box stores around here like Dick's, Sports Authority, and Academy tend to have gun counter clerks with limited knowledge of firearms. Cabelas and Gander Mountain seem a little better, though I did once hear a Cabelas clerk tell a customer she should carry the Ruger SP101 .357 revolver with an empty chamber aligned with the hammer (like an old time single action revolver) to prevent an accidental discharge.
So limit yourself to four rounds for a non-issue? Modern revolvers have transfer bars or hammer blocks to avoid that risk completely...
I'm sure they have knowledgeable employees but I once asked a younger clerk in the gun section of Cabela's in Buda if they had any .25 ACP ammo - he had never heard of it... JMB would be rotating in his grave.
