I love that show. I actually felt sorry for him at the end of the 3rd season.

a while back he was interviewed about the show and said that while he was getting ready for the show he spent several months on capital hill with senators and staff , learning how to perfect his part, and that what the show portrays is actually not as nasty as what actually goes on in real life.
Somehow, I can believe that..

As far as Washington DC being a place full of backstabbing nasty people, you might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

I watch the Americanized version, but I'm still a HoC Originalist. The advantage the British have always had is that they can screw you over so badly yet still come out appearing like a decent chap. Underwood doesn't come close though he does try to hide it under the a Southern charm.

Airing the ad during the Republican Debate though was a very ballsy move, especially since Underwood is a Democrat!
