What do you do if you are the worlds biggest self promoting self absorbed narcissistic jerk with the worst comb over on the planet?
Thats simple you run for president.
Ever since he announced as a candidate the media has been falling all over him, he can now say the most stupid things and instead of being dismissed it is all over the national and international press.
I have come to the conclusion that he doesn't want the gig but he is going to play this down till he forces the gop to kick him out and if they want to continue as an actual party they have to do it.
To me it almost seems that he is working for the democratic party because as each day goes by and his statements get more outlandish it is proof just how shallow that stupid party really is.
I'm beginning to think he might have some kind of grudge against the gop and is trying to destroy them. I also think what he is doing is important because we can reflect on the times and truly see just how fucked up our society really is. It is truly disturbing to see the kind of impact this guy is having on the culture. He's as big of a crackpot as Lyndon Larouche was. Nobody took him serious and he couldn't get any time on the media unless he paid out of pocket for a half an hour just before the networks signed off for the night. If I'm right about him then he is truly living the dream.
It's a bit of a rant but its because I've been forced to listen to him all day so far because radio or TV he's all thats on.

But why is he the only thing on? When there were terrorist attacks in France they covered them non-stop. When they happen here, they drop to 3rd page behind hair boy's stupidity. The election isn't for a year and he's not even a GOP candidate yet. He isn't a politican who can affect anything.

I'm not a conspiracy type but why did the press drop the terrorist in the US story for this crap? It seems odd that the other shootings in the US have gone on longer and this is a bigger story. Maybe someone has suggested they not scare us or something. It just feels weird given recent coverage patterns for shootings.

My money is on the gop pushing him out to independent status taking the hate voting bloc with him. This will let dems do a cake walk and give us gop a la Hillary

Yeah, Bernie and O'Malley are still running. Along with Jeb!, Rubio, Cruz, Carson, Fiorina, Paul, and most of the rest of the GOP clown car. But they're not the darlings of the media the way The Donald and Hillary are.

Oh you're right on there, Hillary will slide in with just a few vtes just like her husband did with zero mandate because of the split vote from the right and that might be what trump is doing. He sure is living the dream. I believe he doesn't believe a word he says and no, he doesn't really want the job. I grew up in NY in the 80s and he was already a minor celebrity there and shameless self-promoter. Already considered a clown, his fame was based on his wealth, high-profile marriages and divorces, and a crappy book. I don't remember Trump ever expressing conservative views. He was donating to every democrat he could find and his goal in life seemed to be making money, throwing or attending parties, and getting on every talk show on TV.

He's a national embarrassment. Offending whoever he wants to, whenever he wants to. Totally self absorbed and no self awareness at the same time. The rest of the world's leaders must be cringing at the thought of him being elected. He has holdings in the middle east, yet he insults them with his statements about banning them. Is this a sample of his foreign policy approaches? However he comes out of this in the next eighteen months, one thing is for sure, many people he has done business with will distance themselves from him. I hope his wealth diminishes as a result. A good lesson for him.

Another thing, if elected, how much of his time will be split between his executive presidential duties and his personal business ventures? I doubt he could keep his hands off personal business at the peoples expense.

Well on MSNBC I just saw a blast from the past, the ole giant talking head and Pennsylvania fascist Tom Ridge. Wow he was basically echoing everything I said in my OP, "I will not endorse that man he is nothing more than an embarrassment to the party and the nation. Wow, thats the guy that snapped me out of it and back to shooting and reloading in 2003. I felt that for the first time in my life the government was going to just take over everything, cancel elections etc. He's the only repub making any sense.
By the way, whats 15" long and hangs down in front of an asshole?

Here's what scares me. Repubs/democrats are split close to 50/50 in the US. If 36% of republicans back Trump than 18% of all the voters in the country have no regard or understanding of the constitution. Yikes.

Even Darth Cheney has come out of his cave opposing Trump's ideas. If Darth Cheny against him he must be bad.

Trump's popularity comes from his campaign style; repeat everything your fans tell themselves.

I have my suspicions that he's being paid off by Clinton. It's an easy way to distract everyone.

Think of Trump like a rabbid anti-gunner who calls for bans, confiscation, and door to door searches for guns. He thinks what many want to say but won't because they are more calculating in their move to get the same results through slightly different means.

So they don't ban Muslims. They'll just slowly make it reeeaaalllyyy hard to get here if you are one.

It is unfortunate that he has the same type of ignorant followers that became the black shirts and brown shirts for the Fascist dictators of WWII. It is best to remember there were simulate groups in Spain, England, France and the US before the War started. Even today we have the Neo Facist groups here today. In fact one group has even called Trump the Ultimate Savior of the US.

Sadder still, perhaps, is that he receives support from so many angry, ignorant folks whose interest he would serve no better than those he would bar from being here at all; so many of his supporters are not only ignorant and angry, they're dupes for believing he'll improve their lot.

As for Trump, I believed he was running because he thought it would enhance his brand, that he really didn't want the job. As time goes by, I'm not so sure any more.

As ignorant and hateful, as a much too large of a percentage of people in the US are, that percentage is smaller than it was just a generation or two ago and is much less likely to act on it. Even after 911 you didn't see a huge, violent, backlash against the Muslim population in general.

Remember, it hasn't been that long ago that people were drinking out of seperate fountains and the commentary on the news would be more along the lines of "Why do they want to do away with that?".

I think that, mostly due to Fox News and their ilk, a lot of that hatred is coming back. We're far more polarized now than we were in 2001.

Well the latest poll after Trump's ban statements puts him at 35% of Republican voters. Next highest is Cruz with 16%
