One of the things I hate is argueing with someone who knows nothing about guns about gun control. I had one guy claim you could by a Colt AR-15 off the shelf which had a selective fire switch for semi auto and three shot burst. It took me a long time to convince him that three shot burst was automatic and could not be sold over the counter.
But here is one from Fox News last week that left me shaking my head. In California a bullet button is a alteration to the mag release on an AR so that the mag can only be dropped using a "tool" usually a bullet because of the complexities of California law. This guy thinks it converts the AR to full auto.
Re: The stupid it burns!
2NPR has been driving me nuts with their comments. They describe things in slow, halting phrases and suddenly its pure evil.
I heard them describe a reloading press. "Some sort of metal cylinder that had a bar. The man could manipulate the cylinder in a way to affect the ammo it would produce. He knew how to produce a certain type of round. "
It sounded like black magic

3No that is not black magic. This is black magic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_inverse_square_root
But enough of my professional life. I never done reloading but I knew a few that do and the amount of stupid in this video is too damn high.

Back in 1996, I was trying to engineer my own 3D game engine from scratch. I failed when I ran into a problem where I needed to calculate the inverse square root and the processing cost was too high. I would have KILLED to know that magic! The engine was so amazing too. Voxel based fully deformable, buildable, and destructible. The base game I made for it was one where you build a base and defend it. You'd build your base using materials you mined in the surrounding environment. Different materials had different properties; durability, friction, etc.
Basically I made Minecraft in 1996 but couldn't get it to render because calculating the inverse square root was too costly. ARGH!
Jesus, that function would have been amazing...

7Well, that sort of dark arts rhetoric doesn't encourage me to pursue reloading.Simmer down wrote:NPR has been driving me nuts with their comments. They describe things in slow, halting phrases and suddenly its pure evil.

That also suggests you'd have to learn it from a guy who looks like this:

10This was also posted in the other sub, but I didn't comment on it because I didn't get to watch the youtube video.
Until now that is. Boy that was painful. This is Fox's gun expert? He's about as expert as Ralph Wiggum then. Also, while I expect Fox to have some idiotic blowhards when it comes to things like climate change, women's rights, etc, but this is guns for crying out loud. Need to step up their game!
