Doesn't Finland have universal health care? We don't, so would it not work over here until we implement the same?

Finland is a country of 5.5 million people and they are mostly the same. I don't see what they do over there working here but I would love to try.

Thomas Paine suggested pretty much the same in his book Agrarian Justice ( 1796 ).

Most Finns are related, proven by genetics. My sense is that there are distinct differences in attitudes and ideas on government and its purpose. Most Finns believe that there is a common goal and all need a share in it.

The biggest problem Finland has is the EU.

You know what I meant when I said "they are mostly the same". I have always felt that all of the European countries have felt very similar and that the EU was doomed from the beginning, its called nationalism, sometimes its very good and sometimes its very bad. The US is on the other hand a melting pot and I like that it leads to diversity. I don't believe that a single Democrat would touch this with a 10ft pole and could you imagine the republican response?

From my perspective Europeans are very different from each other. I view culture as the difference it varies from one region to another. Along with linguistic differences that shape people. Nationalism is an ingredient the same way it is in the United States. My wife was very shocked at how nationalistic the citizenry here in the US appears to be compared to Finland. And don't get me on to talking about the French and other major counties in the EU they have absolutely no interest in considering the needs of Finland. I opposed Finland joining the EU. Also the melting pot in the US is a bit of a myth. It's more of a dilution pot and it takes generations to work.
