Just wanted to point out:
1. "It’s reprehensible that with everything going on in the world, these senators won’t stand up to the special interests and pass a commonsense measure like closing the terrorist gun loophole,” The good ole "Terrorist Gun Loophole." I have never heard of this one. I am sure it is right up there with "Assault Clothing."
2. "Senators passed by a vote of 90-10 an amendment sponsored by Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) to repeal the "Cadillac tax" on expensive health plans." So all the Republicans and how many Democrats just voted for a tax break for the wealthy?

2Is the Terrorist Gun Loophole where if you are on the NoFly List or if you are not a white God fearing Christian your assumed to be a terrorist and shouldn't be able to buy a gun.GeorgiaRN wrote:http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/26 ... -obamacare

But we have to think of the rich children don't they deserve the best healthcare?2. "Senators passed by a vote of 90-10 an amendment sponsored by Sen. Just look at what the news House Speaker has proposed in his agenda. More tax rate cuts for the wealthy. Cut corporate tax rates. Make Medicare a voucher plan for private insurance. Repeal the ACA. Make Medicaid a block grant to states to let them spend as they see fit. Cut the SNAP (food stamps) program. Increase the retirement age for Social Security. Cut social programs and increase defense spending to balance the budget.

With the ACA repeal Mitch "The Turtle" McConnell has just wet his Depends with glee, even as he knows that Obama is going to veto it.
This gives us a good view of what to expect if the worst happens and a Republican gets elected president and they control congress. It's 1890s Deja Vu.

3Many democratic constituents are hit with the 'Cadillac Tax', specifically union workers. The rich can afford to self insure so it really does not affect them, unless you think union workers are the rich.GeorgiaRN wrote:http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/26 ... -obamacare

4It really is one of the failures of ACA. Adding to the problem is many of the best providers are going over to cash only, as I experienced first hand with my parents, union Cadillac plan holders who have over the past two years lost all their best doctors to practices serving only the self insured.hoosier8 wrote:Many democratic constituents are hit with the 'Cadillac Tax', specifically union workers. Shame no one seems to want to offer any solutions in Washington.
Re: ACA repeal and gun control
5Good point hosier. Unions have fought hard for good health insurance. I have been the beneficiary of some of those plans and I ain't rich. It is going to hurt union and other employees. Other employees such as government. Many people went into government service for the benefits as almost always, in the past at least.pay was less.. This plays into the image that Democrats want to take things away from people who earned them. The image is a distortion but this cadillac plan tax was an ill thought out attempt at financing a program. It can only hurt a large class of people who should be Democrats. The rich can shrug it off.The Republicans can exploit it.
