The truth is different and in fact opposite of what you posit that the last 200 years of jurisprudence devolve the amendment as an individual right. Apparently history can be bought and paid for as much as legislation is today.
I think Inquisitor is right on this. The courts have recently agreed that 2A is an individual right:
The question of a collective right versus an individual right was progressively resolved in favor of the individual rights model, beginning with the Fifth Circuit ruling in United States v. Emerson (2001), along with the Supreme Court's rulings in District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), and McDonald v. Chicago (2010). In Heller, the Supreme Court resolved any remaining circuit splits by ruling that the Second Amendment protects an individual right.[158] Although the Second Amendment is the only Constitutional amendment with a prefatory clause, such linguistic constructions were widely used elsewhere in the late eighteenth century.[159]

According to Merriam-Webster
: a large group of loud people who could become violent; a mob
: ordinary or common people who do not have a lot of money, power, or social status
: the lowest class of people
: ordinary people, especially when regarded as socially inferior or uncouth.
Examples of RABBLE
<the crown prince was reminded that even the rabble of the realm deserved his attention and compassion>
I wonder where I fit in. I'm relatively quiet, non-violent, and dislike large groups. Probably ordinary and uncouth...
Intentional or not, this probably goes a long way toward supporting the "Liberal elite" stereotype.
Go to some of the more popular 2A boards and you'll find examples of the primary definition.
Just be careful you don't conflate them with us (because it seemed that way). We don't have to agree, but nothing gets this groups collective dander up quite like that

Sorry. But I honestly didn't mean it that way. I only didn't want to be in a position of throwing stones directed at specific examples which can sound petty. I thought that people would understand what I was referring to by "rabble".

Form a well regulated militia and then we can talk about being a constitutional absolutist. I don't believe the 2A was a right that was ever meant to be expressed in isolation. The 2A rabble always drop the first part of that admittedly poorly formed sentence. But the right was never stated as "The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." If the founders wanted it that straightforward, that's the way they would have written it.
What part of "the people" do you fail to comprehend?

I do find it interesting to interpret something that is a "Bill of Rights" for the people, as only being about the actual people for all but one of them........

Yeah. Tough time to be a liberal gun owner and 2A supporter. Getting it from both sides. Then an influx of new members, some of whom regularly turn out to be left or right wing concern trolls. Folks get jumpy. But it's all good. It's just the Internet.

Words have not only dictionary definitions, but also societal connotations. One needs to be aware...
I would be somewhat surprised if anyone claimed that we as a group are uneducated or "lower class".
