The CalGuns website has been down for about a week. Does anybody know why?

I had no idea until now.

Apparently the server crashed and the backup site is running: calguns.org

Yeah, I checked their FB page on Thursday, Webserver crash for the hosting company. It sounds like the databases are fine, but the front end is hosed.

They are back up since Saturday.

One theory I have heard is that they, or their hosting service, were victims of a blackmail distributed denial of service attack.
