The Liberal Gun Club is an affiliated club join up!
You can print your member record from the website. That counts and is how we did it before Nato started printing cards. So despite the card program being paused while I wait for the printing equipment, you can still take advantage of membership.

How to print member records from the website isn't covered in the FAQs and the membership page doesn't seem to link to any printable info... My profile has the date I joined the forum but nothing about when I became a paid member. Is there any specific information you could share to help find my membership info?

After you log in, you can click the "View Profile" link at the Upper Right. I printed that page out (or a screen shot of it anyways) and provided that to the CMP to get my Garand and my 1911 magazines.
If all CMP needs is a print out of my profile I've been misunderestimating, or to be more precise misoverestimating, the process...

This :)

Oh this is good. I probably wont be able to afford a 1911, but I would like to take advantage of their ammo sales once in a while.
This is just my opinion, yours may vary and is no less valid.

It should have your membership number on the printout.

Ok, as a member of LGC I'm in good standing here.

However, since I let my 03 FFL lapse...worthless now in CA...any thoughts on how to do the proof of marksmanship requirement? Uh, yeah, take a class somewhere...I work on weekends.

Also, under current CA laws, can the CMP still ship to me or do I have to go through an 01 FFL? I'm guessing they can't.

But a 1911 is on my bucket list.

Going into a holiday in which gun high-profile gun prohibition groups like Everytown could get away with giving Obama a pass, the president quietly signed a bill that included this and a couple of other rather technical provisions that might benefit those not opposed to the RKBA.

I look forward to seeing exactly how they will be sold through the CMP since they are handguns.

I also look forward to seeing how the federal government offering M1911s for sale to proles will jibe with state laws either explicitly prohibiting them or failing to include them on lists of guns those governments deem safe for use by their subjects.

Even a range officer can sign off on you being at a range, which fulfills the requirement. Or perhaps the match here. Doesn't have to be a class.

I think the 01 ffl, although if you get your certificate of eligibility, maybe they can use the 03? I have the coe as an instructor, its not tough, but does take a little time to go through the process and of course you do have to pay for it.

I imagine it will require the CCW or equivalent to ship to a less than friendly state. But to my knowledge they don't check for FID in MA when they sell you a Garand (I assume they do a 4473 on the backend), not bought one directly from CMP so not sure.

CA folks, I thought someone said C&R were exempt from the "list" there?

Email them, they may take the expired C&R as proof enough.

As a Californian I still have my 03 and COE. From my understanding all handguns, even C&Rs (which these CMP 1911s should be designated as) must go through a normal 01FFL for California residents. It's C&R long guns that can be shipped directly to you if you have the two licenses. Just recently I bought a Tokarev C&R, and I had to have it shipped to my FFL. However, having an 03/COE allowed me to DROS it and take it with me the same day. No need to wait 10 days for that.

I haven't brushed up on my laws, but I forget whether non 03/COEs can get DROS a C&R gun from a regular FFL with the 10-day wait. I want to say sure, yes, but I don't remember exactly.

I think I knew that, what about your "roster"?

Re: Obama authorizes sale of 100,000 surplus 1911s through C

Dang. I'd forgotten about that with the pistols. You can go out of state and buy them with your C&R, but can't have it shipped directly to you. Lame.

As to the list, if it's on the ATF C&R list, then the roster does not apply.

http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/
Effective January 1, 2001, no handgun may be manufactured within California, imported into California for sale, lent, given, kept for sale, or offered/exposed for sale unless that handgun model has passed firing, safety, and drop tests and is certified for sale in California by the Department of Justice. Private party transfers, curio/relic handguns, certain single-action revolvers, and pawn/consignment returns are exempt from this requirement.
