I'd go!

I read that a Russian helicopter that was going to try to rescue the pilot has been shot down. No link. I'll see if I can find something out. The plot gets worse.

I'm getting tired of listening to people screaming out to their god while killing other people, it seems so medieval.
It is medieval. Look forward (sarcasm coming) to hearing more such gleeful expressions. Won't be long before it's one of ours.

I live in the part of St. Louis with 40,000 Bosnian and Serbian refugees, and hearing some of the stories from the ones who were in the middle of that conflict , and how propaganda pushed on them daily in radio, television broadcast , the press, and so many other groups turned even friends and family on each other. Constantly hearing how this religion, this race, this type, even where someone lived and how they lived was used to basically brain wash masses into outright hate of each other, where before they may not have liked each other, but they tolerated them and lived in relative peace.
My Sister-In-Law's husband is a Serb/Croat and not liked by ether side. He was in Kosoov with his family during the bombing that he said was not needed. that the hostilities had already died down. The only thing or people he hates out of that whole mess was the Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Your right. For the first 5 years or so after they moved over here, there was a few squabbles. I remember some Bosnian s rammed their car though the window of a Serbian owned pizza shop, and destroyed it with pipes and gun fire. I think that was back in 96 /97 and the worst I had heard of between the two. Sure, there has been the occasional murder, but no proof who did what, and its usually the younger, second Gens who are involved. Some of them seem to think they are gansta's

Do you think there is some kind of message in this happening? I mean, being so close to Thanksgiving and Turkey shooting down a Killing machine? :D

Maybe he will borrow one of Dubya's plans for Iraq, and paint a Russian plane as a Red Cross plan and keep flying over until they shoot it down, to give him credence to roast Turkey.

I think I know how to use this holiday joy to completely defeat ISIS once and for all. The Tryptophan puts them to sleep, or, they get knocked out by the force of gravity.

putin seems to be showing some restraint. it may be that he recognizes that we have a common enemy, and sees more benefit in temporary cooperation. there's always time to rattle sabers later. if assad can't hold, putin's got another tiger by the tail, and russia is familiar with the outcome of fighting on two fronts, especially when there's discontent at home and the body bags start coming in. sometimes it leads to regime change.
i'm retired. what's your excuse?

He's moved in anti-aircraft equipment and a ship with missiles. And I believe taken some economic actions to punish Turkey.

i think putin has cozied up to the russian orthodox church, but that doesn't necessarily mean he actually believes. to make it more palatable, we could substitute the word "rational" for "afraid", but i'm sure all these variables go into his calculus.

Meanwhile,

Yesterday the Russians violated Israeli air space, and we just politely escorted out of Israeli air space...gee, what a contrast.

Don't get me wrong, there's some real shit going down between Russia and Turkey. Russia is attacking Asad's enemies, Turkey is playing both sides of ISIS, and arming anti-Asad rebels. Since Turkey and Russia are on absolute opposite sides of this conflict, everyone saw this coming from a mile away. The shooting down of the Russian plane was a monumentally stupid thing to do.
