Yes but this is how "War" starts.

France invoking mutual aid clauses with the EU. NATO holding emergency sessions when a member state "defends" sovereignty.

Airliners downed. Mass casualties in capital cities. Millions fleeing conflict zones.

Not a far jump from archdukes and passenger liners. I hate to channel DM and be all doom and gloom, but this is all bad mojo.

I had the same thought today thinking about archdukes and complicated treaty relationships.

I believe the plane crashed in Syria. It's problem fighting over a postage stamp in a jet.

Have seen a few videos of Rebels shooting the parachuting pilots in the air. Then they show one of the bodies on the ground being stripped and al kinds of gleeful shouting going on. A number of mideast experts claim that isis is not in the area and the language and accents of the ground fighters has them believing they are our jihadis, in other words trained and financed by the cia. I'm getting tired of listening to people screaming out to their god while killing other people, it seems so medieval.

It is medieval. Look forward (sarcasm coming) to hearing more such gleeful expressions. Won't be long before it's one of ours.

I found this and copied it from another forum. It explains quite clearly what we are doing in the middle east.
Are you confused by what is going on in the Middle East? Let me explain.

We support the Iraqi government in the fight against Islamic State. We
don’t like IS, but IS is supported by Saudi Arabia, who we do like.

We don’t like President Assad in Syria. We support the fight against
him, but not IS, which is also fighting against him.

We don’t like Iran, but Iran supports the Iraqi government against IS.
So, some of our friends support our enemies and some of our enemies
are our friends, and some of our enemies are fighting against our
other enemies, whom we want to lose, but we don’t want our enemies who
are fighting our enemies to win.

If the people we want to defeat are defeated, they might be replaced
by people we like even less. And all this was started by us invading a
country to drive out terrorists who weren’t actually there until we
went in to drive them out. Do you understand now?
See clear as mud.

I live in the part of St. Louis with 40,000 Bosnian and Serbian refugees, and hearing some of the stories from the ones who were in the middle of that conflict , and how propaganda pushed on them daily in radio, television broadcast , the press, and so many other groups turned even friends and family on each other. Constantly hearing how this religion, this race, this type, even where someone lived and how they lived was used to basically brain wash masses into outright hate of each other, where before they may not have liked each other, but they tolerated them and lived in relative peace.
This is just my opinion, yours may vary and is no less valid.
