In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris, and the ongoing hunt for other armed terrorists across Europe, many are asking how terrorists are getting AK-47 assault rifles into France, which has very restrictive gun-control laws in place. Meanwhile, the media is again talking about a 2010 GAO (U.S. Government Accountability Office) report that found that 1,119 people on the U.S. “Terrorist Watch List” were able to buy guns or explosives from U.S. gun dealers between February 2004 and February 2010. As the media often jumps over sober explanations or misunderstands issues related to guns altogether, here are the facts behind both concerns.

Well if the people whom are on the terror watch lists are US citizens, they have their 2nd Amendment rights until due process takes it away. Being put on a list isn't due process. While it's disconcerting, if they're REALLY worried about it, then arrest the guy and make your case against him. Until then, we're a nation of LAWS.

I'm confused about the watch list thing. Is it for non-citizens only? Is there sufficient evidence for anyone who is on the list to turn them over to the authorities of their respective countries so they can be prosecuted of a crime? Wait... Isn't Youssef Islam on the list? (The artist formerly known as Cat Stevens) Maybe I'm mistaken. Is it the same as the do not fly list? In any case, if someone is suspected of having done something criminal, they should be charged and tried. I need to read up on this stuff.

The terrorist watch list is not always accurate. In fact, Ted Kennedy was on it, as were a lot of other people. including if I recall a new born baby who had a similar name to someone else. So my question is, how many of those 1,119 who bought guns or explosives, were suppose to be on the list, or were just their due to clerical errors?
This is just my opinion, yours may vary and is no less valid.
