Which is why Hillary "inspiring" them is not much of an advantage. That group is already going to turn out in fairly high numbers and vote for the D, regardless.

Last poll I saw, Bernie did better against various Rs that $hillary, presumably because he does better with people who aren't already completely in the tank for the mainstream Ds, or people don't hate him as much as her.
Yup. This is my point exactly. Obama got dems (and left-leaning independents) off the couch and into the voting booth. I don't see that with HRC.

Of course, the Rep candidate could be SO bad that dems are motivated to vote against him, but that certainly didn't work in 2004.

Wow. I don't see myself voting for her...ever.
She wouldn't be much different than voting for a Republican. She is THE candidate of the billionaires and billion dollar corporations.

If the Democrats are going to lose to some nut job on the right, wouldn't it be best that they lost by putting up a REAL progressive candidate?

But what if, just what if...The Republicans nominated Trump, and we have Bernie? I think Bernie can beat Trump easily. I think he will have a little harder job beating Carson because the media seem to be going REALLY easy on him. But once the candidates are delcared, I think Bernie could expose Trump as the absolute joke that he his. With Carson he'll have to be more careful but Carson's religious views are considered extremist by some (the left) and just a little too preachy to others (on the right). So Carson's lack of real leadership, lack of understanding of issues, and his extremely conservative social views are serious chinks in his armor, and Bernie can easily break those down.

My opinion is worth less than nothing, but here it is . . .

Bernie could absolutely beat Trump. He could beat Carson too. But neither Trump nor Carson will be the nominee. Rubio will.

I'd like to think that the Bern would beat him, but I'm not so sure. For that matter, I'd like to think that Hillary would beat him, but again, I'm not so sure.

I'm thinking she would stoop to the depths to ruin any administration she was involved with as the number 2.

While I'm not convinced, seeing as how the whole country on both the red and blue sides knew Cheney was actually Mommon come to walk the earth, yet Bush got a second term. However I concede you have a point, especially since the VP is the only cabinet member that the POTUS can't fire.

If Bernie gets the nom, he needs to pick a young, credible, hands clean Dem who can then run for Pres eventually. Naming Hilldawg VP gets us nowhere in the future. And we need a fucking future.

Or maybe he could convince Elizabeth Warren to be VP. I'm new here so I have to explain that I wanted Liz to run for Pres so bad I was willing to set myself on fire (in a manner of speaking). I continue to be bitter that she's not. Considering how well Bernie is doing, I'm doing a hindsight thing that Liz would be mopping the floor with Hil (and Bernie) right now.
