Last poll I saw, Bernie did better against various Rs that $hillary, presumably because he does better with people who aren't already completely in the tank for the mainstream Ds, or people don't hate him as much as her.
Of course, the Rep candidate could be SO bad that dems are motivated to vote against him, but that certainly didn't work in 2004.
