I came across the below comment a little while ago and thought I'd share it.

We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.

Nice. Too bad most of my friends are so afraid of the gun itself that they wouldn't even hear that analogy.

This is why I think teaching logic and critical thinking in colleges is a path with heart.

I'm in favor of it being taught in the schools starting in the elementary grades. It doesn't have to be taught in the lower grades with Venn diagrams or truth statements but you can have simple logic and critical thinking skills taught. The other part of th critical thinking courses should be a section on the book written in the 1950s How to Lie With Statistics.

We won't see these courses taught in Texas public schools, because the GOP in Texas does not want the people taught critical thinking skills.
