Massachusetts "guns licenses" allegedly up 66% over 5 years

When the 22News I-Team examined the numbers, we discovered the amount of women getting firearms licenses was rising

(When did you start to notice a rise in women getting gun licenses?)
“Within the last few years there’s been a significant rise in the last 3-4 years,” said Denise Arcieri, a NRA certified instructor.
“After a long day at the office there’s nothing more fun than meeting with up with a bunch of girls at the range and letting off some steam,” said Arcieri.
I'm sure this will be viewed as a problem to be solved.

Unpossible. A survey with a laughably small sample size where a stranger called people on the phone and asked them if they had expensive items in their homes that are a major theft target proved that the number of firearms owners is smaller than ever.
My official title is Doctor Mister Hunter Of Skullyness. Don't ask me, ask Fukshot.

The moral certainty of the crusader is as much a comfort to them as it is a burden to those in the path of their crusade.

same here, my dad has 70 acres out in the middle of no where. That is where we shoot mostly..
This is just my opinion, yours may vary and is no less valid.

I think the most incredible part is the sea change in Ma. Whether it's 66%, or 33%. In such an historical "may issue" State, to see any growth in numbers, is amazing. Somehow, somewhere, the various Depts have done 180s in allowing this. Was it Law suits that brought this change? Or just a general consensus to do the lighten up?
I know, I know, it's not "shall issue", but c'mon, it's MA.

Little bit of both. State police for the longest time were rumored to have said a "license to carry" Meant "carry" regardless of restrictions. So at some level an acknowledgement of enforcement difficulties was at least part of it. Omnibus last year cleaned up some of it as well (even though it may have turned FID may issue though it's not clear that has happened).

Little bit at a time. Maybe we will get to "sensible" here.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting on my Desert Eagle, probably go out in the backyard and pop off a few rounds with my other guns, in anticipation. Friday, I'm going on a bike ride with my buddy out to the Uwharrie forest. Of course we both carry several firearms on a bike trip...well dressed biker and all that. Tomorrow night, I'll probably walk across the highway to the Thursday night Turkey shoot. Maybe win a bird, or at least a few food coupons.NC has been berry berry good to me.

I doubt anything has lightened up in MA with regard to guns regardless of the gun law that was passed. It sounds as if more people are applying. If "one in every 14 adults" is to be believed, that's over 7%. It must have been closer to 4% in 2010.
