I was reminded at the meeting, that we never made any announcement about Rolandson stepping down as Uber Admin.
It happened months ago now, and I figured that everyone noticed. I was informed I was wrong. He is on indefinite sabbatical and will probably not to return to any forum moderation duties.
He was instrumental in keeping this place running for the last several years, and while we had our differences of opinion on how to do things, he has my gratitude and respect for putting up with it for as long as he did and for ALL the contributions he made to the club.

I totally missed this announcement when it was first posted.
Now, belatedly, I want to add my own thanks to Rolandson.
He was always available to help out when we were setting up the new postal matches early last spring, and he constantly offered encouragement.
I am very grateful to him.

Thank you for the update. I was wondering where Rolandson had gone and missed his posts. I hope the break from the forum is temporary. I want to echo Lurker's gratitude for maintaining a kinder and gentler forum. It's not hyperbole to say that I've witnessed more vitriol on gardening forums than I have here, and I really appreciate that - kudos not only to the admins and mods, but also to the forum citizenry.
(yes, some people really do get insanely bent out of shape in disagreements over how to properly prune roses )

Well, since the first official post on the subject was only a few hours ago, you didn't miss it by much.

I know the man liked Phil Ochs a lot so in case he might be peeking in from one former Duluthian to another.

I send thanks to R, and I suspect he'll be back when he forgets how thankless his job was.

You're right. It had moved down the post list, and I assumed it was a few days old. Sorry for the confusion.
Well, anyway, glad I caught it.

I'm still breathing...
Many - many thanks for the kind thoughts and comments...I'm touched.
Yes, I do indeed stick my nose in here every so often, just to see what's happening and to pick up my mail you understand!
"Sabbatical" is a most accurate description for my current status...just an opportunity to do some other things that unfortunately necessitate a separation from my forum responsibilities...
but I haven't forgotten y'all!
Made some changes to my shooting habits:
dumped (sold) or gave away (family) most of my firearms; keeping one that doesn't work [1938 Arisaka "style" 99 (that's what the Japanese characters translate to even though we say "type")] and one that does (a 70's 10/22).
Switched to .45 (SIG P220) from the .40's I had been married to for so long. .45 has less snap than .40 and these hands are not what they used to be.
Again, thank you so much for the kind words...
I'll be back, just don't know when.

The wife and I both say hi, and we need to get together one of these days now that we're closer to your neck of the woods.
