I think it's why Muscle Cars are becoming more popular, too...

I drive a Fiat :)

This is the primary reason I am interested in carry permits. There are still restrictions, but they are far less likely to get you in trouble than without the permit.
In Texas it also means you're good to go for any buy going through a FFL dealer. No waiting. Full throttle impulse!
Also the best best way for me to show a hesitant private seller of their firearm that I'm indeed legal to buy one, as a private buyer.

I see more private transactions asking for a look at the license. Minimum standards to cover yourself.

Well, I'm not confident that there's a police officer within seconds or even minutes of me, should I ever need one.

There's been a fair number of robberies against people either opening or closing businesses on the area lately. I'm usually the first at my work in the morning and often the last to leave - and while we don't have a lot of cash on hand, we have an inventory of stuff that would be easy to sell worth millions and we're in an industrial area with low morning and evening traffic so there's that...

All those states are rural with one or two major metro areas. They don't seem that diverse to me.
Whaddaya mean, not diverse? We've got Pittsburgh in the west, Philadelphia in the east, and Alabama in between.

Funny thing about PA: Allegheny County (which contains one of those major metro areas) issues almost twice as many concealed carry licenses as any other county in the state.
