What I find particularly saddening about Ms. Allen's case is that she volunteered the information that she was carrying to the officer that stopped her. Additionally, in her home state of PA (my state), there is no "duty to inform" a LEO that you are carrying a firearm. Had she utilized her Fifth Amendment rights, this likely would not have happened.

I also agree that the proposed legislation sponsored by Assemblyman Dancer is "too little, too late."

Al isn't standing up for her because it's not in his job description as Racial Arsonist and not self-serving in any way. The fact that MSNBC gave him his own talkshow made me sad.

What bothers me about this entire situation -- the prosecutor could have offered the diversionary program to her. He is a well known anti-gunner. This same prosecutor - the very same one - gave a diversionary program to Ray Rice. So, a single mom, who made a mistake is going to have her life ruined, meanwhile the guy who slammed his now-wife so hard in an elevator that she was unconscious for what appears to be longer than a minute or two.

Why? Because heaven forbid the Gods of Football cannot have one of their anointed from above not play. What prosecutor wants to be the one to "end" Ray Rice's career? Not that guy.

I found it telling that all of a sudden her case was pulled off the active list and is going for further review. I will bet you dollars to donuts that her case will go away very quietly. This prosecutor is going to have to answer in a very public forum why he let a rich football player who beat his significant other senseless and brutally and why he is throwing the proverbial book a single mom who made an honest mistake.

And for the record: I am a football fan - have been one for a long, long time. But I feel like when the laws are not applied honestly and fairly, as in the case of these two people, something needs to be done.

Just heard the news NJ has folded and granted Shaneen Allen pre-trial intervention. Huge win for her, her kids, her career. RT @Lcstyle

Another try that will also fail. Christie would not sign it now anyway since there is no reason for him to pretend he is pro-RKBA.

"We want bad guys with guns to go to jail," Bramnick said. "But we don't want good guys who maybe made a stupid decision and forgot there's a gun in the vehicle to go to jail for three years."
Shaneen Allen is not mentioned in the article.
