Changed EDC to PT100 .40S&W w/15 rd. mag +1 condition 1 and two spare 15 rd. mags whilst shopping at Wally & Sam's today.

After the Turd dressing down lefty guvs and his Rose Garden speech today, it appears we are entering crazy time.

Everyone has their perspective on the risk factors but in the last month 3 officers were ambushed and shot, with 1 killed. A street fight (except it happened at a Mall) with dozens of people shot in June. Here in Illinois it is mandatory masks in public and yet we still have militant types that refuse to wear masks and use the wrong doors, will not "social distance", and they are belligerent about being asked to comply or leave.

We also have "predators" in store parking lots preying mostly on old people....crimes of opportunity. They just hang around looking at their cell phones except if you scrutinize them you'll find that they are pretending to surf or text but their eye are raised and they are spotting/casing potential marks.

So much so that there are police officers in local grocery stores. I asked a store manager if I turn in some of these folks if they would be asked to leave/comply and he told me no. They will do nothing if people roam the store unmasked while there is a sign every 10' telling them it's State Law. I asked if we would be OK to dial 911 and he told me that's OK but actually if I was that worried about it I should leave and come back later.

I continue to carry everywhere/all the time it is legal and have stepped up drawing and shooting training from my concealed carry positions.

All Trump aside, things are a little strange lately.

I really don't like my PT-100 holster very much, so I switched from J frame to P290RS to the P226 in 40 S&W recently. The P226 is pretty light and surprisingly concealed in a Winthrop holster OWB. The Beretta 96 and PT100 and 1911s are just big enough to stick out of the bottom of my shirt more than the P226 for now. And I always carry a blade, too, but I switched to a larger one lately.

It's good to have a choice. I am blessed to be able to afford a variety of options right now.

Today is a Colt day; one of my 1903s in an old Brauer Bros shoulder holster. It's not my oldest 1903 but was made back in 1919 so just over the century mark.

My current carry is a Ruger LCR .38 +P in a Ruger pocket holster.

It's actually my wife's. She bought it to carry on her 7 mile bicycle commute, mostly on a river-side path frequented by
the local homeless community. That, and being hassled by drivers...

Anyway, she found it so painful to shoot, she wanted to get rid of it.
I took it over from her and let her carry my Colt Agent. Fortunately, with COVID, she's
not commuting, so the Colt is happily tucked away for home defense.

Well... have started carrying the 239 or 229(both 9mm) everyday. Things have changed around here where I live and not for the better. Seems the mini me militias don’t like folks giving differing points of view contrary to their coward in drag. Not to mention roger stone calling for the coward to declare martial law if he...gasp...loses the election. Holy crap🤮🤮!!!

Live in OR and have an EDC. Living a generally low threat retirement life, mostly carry a gen 1 LCP with improved spring/rod/laser in either De Santis pocket holster or AWIB in a very comfortable Houston nylon clip holster, with a spare clip in weak hand pocket. Surprisingly accurate little gun, never a jam, prefer Fiocchi XTP.
For a higher level of security switch to a Sig 365 MS with XL frame, 12 rounds mags and great grip for my xl hands. Easily my favorite carry 9 ever with superb sights, very accurate and runs flawless. Have several holsters for it, fave for AWIB is a Vanguard 2, a minimalist trigger cover that works well, and for OWB a De Santis 019 Mini Scabbard that provides a comfortable 4 o'clock carry.
Will only carry semi's AWIB or pocket that either have a manual safety or long DAO. And for carry always a Wilderness 5 Stitch Frequent Traveler belt, the most comfortable gun belt I have ever used.

Been carrying legally for 12 yrs in Virginia. I have carried <snip> like the year I lived and worked in Louisiana (a crazy place). My summertime carry is a Springfield XDS in .45 auto (6 rnds) cause it's easy to hide. Now that it's colder out I can switch back to my Springfield XDM in .45 auto (14 rnds) because I'm wearing more clothes. I'd like to check out a 9mm Hellcat for carry but I've spent all my money on other gun stuff :) I love wearing a tie-dyed shirt over a pistol since most people assume I'm an aging hippie and therefore not a threat. Some of my more liberal friends don't even know I'm a gun guy...

I humbly suggest not admitting to felonies on a public forum.

I guess I wouldn't have quoted his post, makes it harder for comrade to edit his post. Yes, probably not the greatest thing to admit, but since they wouldn't know the instance I would think it a bit hard to bring charges on.

My apologies! What I said and edited wasn't all that relevant to the discussion anyway. It all happened so long ago that I sort of threw it into the category of having done drugs in my teens and twenties... sometimes I ramble. I certainly don't ever want to reflect badly on this forum or its members. Just know that I have been playing by the rules for decades at this point. It's so much easier to live this way.

I re-trained first since I hadn't handled pistols much since my Army stint and then got my concealed carry permit 3 years ago. I've carried all the time (except prohibited areas) since. Too many crazies in the country these days, even though I live in a "safe" area.
