The first thing that came to mind before finishing reading the subject line was:

Brain injuries can change people. Their mood, emotions, personality, and behavior. That's what happens when a brain is changed/damaged. Duh.

Anyone who makes this about guns, and not brain injuries, is a moron.

The NFL should be focusing on making it less taboo for players to talk about their head injuries, as well as, less taboo for a bunch of tough guys to talk about their feelings.

This idea that someone is "weak" if they talk to a mental health professional, has got to go. It's absurd and stupid.

The whole tough guy act, is just that, an act.

QFT. It's better that it was 30 years ago, but there's still major changes needed.

S.F.'s quarterback lost his starting job, because he admitted to suffering a concussion. My friend Al Toon was an all pro wide receiver for the NY Jets for 8 years. 20 years ago he abruptly quit football because of suffering a number of concussions. He was widely criticized at that time by sports talking heads for not being tough. Mike Webster who like Al, also started his all pro football career at the U of Wisc, played center for the Steelers for 12 years ignoring multiple head injuries. By age 50, he committed suicide as a result of depression caused by that trauma.

I just saw on the news ( PBS News Hour) that repeated minor brain injuries that don't cause concussion symptoms can lead to sever brain damage. If he was playing since High School or before that could play a pert. Also I wonder if the NFL checks for testastrone supplements. That could be a temptation to bulk up and as a side effect has increasing instances of rage. By the way lineman were most likely to suffer these injuries.
