From what I've read and how Puzikas sells himself, he views safety and training from a whole different perspective (former Soviet type). Something must have been lost in translation.

Sounded to me like the shoot house RO dropped the ball by not marking the range cold.

There's your answer to the question about night sight usefulness.
If you can't correctly and fully identify a target in the dark, you probably should not shoot, regardless of how clearly those glow in the dark sights align to a shadow.
A laser isn't much better.

If you are worried about night intruders in your house, you should get some remote controlled outlets, plug in some lamps, and strategically place "light everything" buttons in several locations. That way if there is a suspicious noise, you can get basic lights going everywhere right away.

isn't one of the cardinal rules something to the effect of being certain of your target...and what's behind it. I think that the subject line could stand changing "accidentally" to "negligently" and nothing would be lost in the translation.

I'd have to agree that if your options are either night sights or mounted light, you should go with the mounted light.

I have night sights AND a TLR-2 on my nightstand gun though.

I wonder the instructor and student were on the range while it was hot going over something and no body told Sonny that people were on the range or if any one knew if it was cold or hot. Considering he hit the instructor through a target, I'm going to assume he had no idea anyone was on the range. Still a shame though.
