Yeah, imagine a guy with the nerve to own a .22 rifle with a tip-off scope! Terrorist bastidge.

He does indeed sound batshit, given his portrayal in the media. Let's see a show of hands for who among us could've been cast in a similarly negative light?

I'm not defending him by any means, but what do you really know of McAfee, or his apparent vic?

John McAfee made $100 million when he sold his company, and promptly lost $96 million of it. He then retired to his tranquil tropical hideaway with the other pirate-wannabees. Arrrr! Did anybody else Google up Gregory Faull? What an impressive arrest record! I got four different mugshots of Faull, dating back more than twenty years. So it's not like the dead guy is Mr. Clean. (Yes, it's the same guy, judging by the mole on his left cheek.)

Belize is mobbed-up to the max, and that typically means that there's more than one "outfit" gunning for your business. I suspect that McAfee and Faull had bought protection from rival outfits, and that's why this blew up into a shootin' war. In contrast, a well-organized country like Japan has only one Outfit, and they settle their differences by internal negotiations. The dogs would've been put down quietly, and that would've been that. Very civilized.

This whole story is hilarious when we contrast it with the Presidential edict that allows summary execution of Americans without the slightest pretense of due process, or the ongoing mayhem in Waziristan and Gaza, where even the tiniest baby can be counted among the 'enemy combatants' once they're DEAD. Sure, we have a respect for life and for the rule of law! This ridiculous episode has certainly provided CNN with a timely distraction from the state-sanctioned murder sprees in Pakistan and Palestine, and that's what really matters.

Overall, he does not sound like a bad guy. Charities, lots of money into a rather poor economy. Eccentric, of course. Batshit, not so much from my perspective. If I won the lottery, and had all my NEW friends hounding my ass, Belize sounds good. Drugs? Well for myself I am in favor. Legalize drugs and punish stupidity, just like what I though was our approach to all guns? Actually all millionaires seem to lead a life apart from most of us, a bit of strangeness mixed in with some craziness and often flippin' society the bird while thy are at it. So a tip of the hat from me to this Mr McAfee, and may ne find peace and few more young women.

From Belize, have fun

We had one visitor a while back asking about a boat gun or something. Then the thread turned into sea battles, explosives, flame throwers...or something like that.

Maybe that was him...

Admit it guys... we all want to be Paul if only for a month... OK three months. The three months before the dogs got poisoned and the neighbor got shot.

Yeah, that would be good. :lep_heel_click:
