Not all Brits suffer aneurysms every time the subject comes up. Current TV ran a program called Tim Shaw on Guns that's a bit of a hoot. Tim initially is in fear of guns but falls in love with them during his time Stateside.

Good to know.

Darn shame I missed that video. I tried a quick search and didn't find it.

Please share if you come up with it on your end.

Down here, we still fly flags down here suggesting what you can do.

If we ever move to TX, that flag will be right beneath Old Glory for sure.

I found this on their site, but I can't figure out how to access the full episode...

That's probably because the BBC is supported by people who play their television licence fees mate, and being a yank you don't qualify.

SO, find a free proxy in the UK or something like privatetunnel.com which has a free 100mb trial, and uses a vpn to make you look like a proper limey to BBC's servers, and you can probably get the content.

I pulled the show off a torrent. It's a 500 mb .avi file. I zipped it up for Xela but don't know if he has it or not yet via PipeBytes. I'm happy to share it via something like DropBox.

I tried the link you provided earlier OldScratch, put it failed. I got a message saying the transfer was cancelled by other party (?). Don't know what that means.

Thanks for trying anyway.

I understand part of what you said, but it appears to be of a dialect I'm not familiar with... I'm not terribly computer savvy.

I'm trying to work something else out for now. Hopefully this upload to File Dropper works and it can be shared from there. 500 mb's of data (about 1 CD worth) doesn't move as quickly as you might think.

Here's a link to FileDropper:

http://www.filedropper.com/timshawonguns

This thing's a 500 mb .zip file containing the .avi (movie) file that will play in Media Player. It was a 2-hour upload so it will be awhile coming down. Also 500 mb is half a GB, be aware of that if you've got a bandwidth cap such as on mobile broadband accounts.

Now I'm getting that the file is corrupted. What I do get in data is only about 150 kb that transfer. Maybe it's my internet service.

I think you're gone above and beyond sir. I do appreciate your efforts.

It's not like I HAVE to watch the clip :)

Try it again, if you haven't already. I tested it last night and again just now. First attempt it was a rather short download and it was indeed corrupted. It pulled all 500 mb down just now and it's playing.

Then again, there could be some kind of cap or filter on your internet service. It's hard to say from here.

Via the intertubes, we watch a lot of British cop shows. Here's our takeaway.

British people are rarely cheerful. Mostly they are nasty to one another. They really hate coppers and always are shitty and combative with the poor investigators.

They have been using sharp edged pointy thingee's to slice, stab, and otherwise torture each other for thousands of years, with an unusual glee that seems to come from that kind of up close and personal activity.

Also they use bottles, belts, rocks, poison and GUNS. From the venerable Webley to a Colt Python. (Cracker)
The bad guys have any firearm they want.

15 - 20 years ago the British Police didn't carry firearms, Now they wear body armor and carry firearms.
The Aussie's are actually cheerful according to their telly and the Canadians are well, Canadian.

On a side note - in 1989 -1990 you could get an M-16 in Moskva, (Moskow) Soviet Union. You just had to know the right criminals.
