I can't believe they were that naive to think that standing on a bridge with a rifle in a large post-9/11 city wouldn't cause a hassle. Somebody wanted media attention.

One would think that the idiots in question would have obtained the necessary permits for their photo shoot (which pretty much every photographer in town knows are required when using a public thoroughfare as a set), thus disposing of an armed response to parading across a bridge while displaying a rifle.

Personally, I think the response of the local constabulary was appropriate given that they had no clue what was going on...

such restraint in Portland?? Normally, it's the practice of Portland cops to simply shoot and be done with it...that these clowns lived is amazing!
