"Police said Monday there was no evidence Boken knew her killer. St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay's press secretary, Kara Bowlin, tweeted Saturday that it appeared Boken knew her killer but later revised her comments to say that the evidence was not clear and that her earlier tweet may have been premature.

Slay, in response to Saturday's killing and recent gun violence in the city and across the country, says he hopes people will start pushing for tougher federal gun laws. There has been a 14 percent rise in shootings here this year through July compared with the same period a year earlier."

Francis is a dolt, but he's been useful for the Peabody's and AT&T's downtown.

Here, 90% of gun deaths inside St Louis county/city tend to be one associate killing another. Random home invasions tend to happen outside this area.

Slay will always have access to armed guards which is good for him especially if he gets to raid the SLMPD's retirement fund like he did the fire fighters.

First his press secretary posts something on Twitter that she pulled out of the air. The Mayor then proposes gun control as a panacea. How timid and inadequate! He did not even say a word about Tod Akin's comments about "legitimate rape"

It's amazing how corporate welfare is available for the professional sports team owners and $$$ to squash Occupy Wall Street but not enough action against violent criminals.

Actually, St Louis was one of the last Encampments. It's ironic that had that October march gone a few more blocks west to the rusting steel sheets the camp would probably be there still...

But yeah, the Downtown Group holds more power in St Louis than the Board of Aldermen. And the loosingest team in teh NFL just needs a new Dome to win it seems...
