The House Oversight Committee filed a civil lawsuit against Attorney General Eric Holder Monday, demanding that Holder release documents from the Fast and Furious gunwalking operation.
We sure can't count on the Democrats in this matter.

Getting to the bottom of the story.

There ain't nobody we can count on for that. It's just axe grinding to score points.

The republicans are doing the right thing in this matter.

People died because the USA supplied guns. Never happened before.

Kinda. I agree with the investigation and think these details need to be seen, but they are trying to blame Obama for it, even though it clearly was in action in 2006.

The current GOP doing the right thing is nothing more than an accident of convenience, collateral damage, as it were. When it comes to political rock throwing, sometimes the right rock is the one that comes to hand. The average Dem may not be a hell of a lot better, but at least they don't justify it by claiming it's okay to be a shit because God is on their side.

The republicans are doing exactly what should be done regarding Holder. Those who defend him (Democrats) are defending the indefensible.

of course it is....
what is surprising is that the president either failed to recognize that it was going to blossom into a pissing match...one he could have avoided by dismissing holder a year ago, or...he wanted this confrontation.

Very true. I can't figure what they are or aren't thinking on this. I'm pretty sure that whatever comes of this, the truth is likely far more nuanced than anything we will hear from either side. Politics is generally a shitty tool for seeking truth or justice, but our current situation seems especially so.

strange isn't it?
I recall from holder's committee testimony an exchange following the one that got all the attention, between him and a democratic rep that seemed entirely scripted....
i am leaning toward the 'wanting the confrontation' rather than being ignorant of the consequences thing...and i wonder if we are seeing the opening salvos of what might become a key element of the campaign....
gun control
funny way to do it...

That'd be a hell of a way to ensure (Romney)-Ryan 2012.
