Time editor-at-large and CNN host Fareed Zakaria was suspended from both places for a month on Friday after admitting to lifting parts of a story from the New Yorker.

Conservative media watchdog Newsbusters was the first to spot the similarities between a Zakaria piece on gun control and an article by Jill Lepore that appeared in the New Yorker in April.

OK I still like him he came clean.

Odds are, CNN's gonna can him permanently. Too bad, really, in spite of this bit of stupid. Wonder where he'll end up?

I thought his commentary was pretty amazing right after the Sikh Temple shooting - pretty amazing detail for someone that isn't on the inside of most of these gun discussions. Turns out An NRA broadcaster caught it and turned it over to a right wing hatchet group.

He certainly cannot research it all." Plagiarism, well he's in good company. The historians Stephen Ambrose and Doris Kearns Goodwin both got trapped and blamed it on their researchers. At a certain point ones reputation has to be more important than the next writing commission.
