Police said a 71-year-old man, a 71-year-old woman, a 69-year-old woman and an 83-year-old woman were walking in the 4500 block of Olive Street about 10:50 p.m. after leaving the Grand Masonic Hall. A robber approached them from behind and ordered them at gunpoint to drop everything or be shot, police said.

The victims complied, police said. As the robber ran westbound along Olive, he turned and pointed his weapon at the victims, police said. The 71-year-old man, who has a concealed-carry permit, drew his revolver and fired five shots at the robber, they said.

The robber returned fire, then fled in an early 1980s maroon Ford pickup with a black camper shell, police said. It was unclear how many shots the robber fired.

Yeah, and the 71 year old man didn't "go all Cowboy" and complied until it looked like they might get shot.

Exactly this. And the pantywaists will be whining that he is the criminal here. Better to be shot execution style, they'll say, than for him to be carrying a concealed weapon.

This guy did it the way it's supposed to be done.
