Smells like a right wing attack; possible multiple shooters.

I can't imagine the right wing even know what Sikh is. I would bet my money that its someone that had a falling out either with the church or with someone in the church. A lover scorned perhaps?

But whatever the reason, it doesn't really matter to those people that were shot. Man, too many shootings lately. :( Not that *any* shootings are ever good.

Suspect has been described as white male, with a shaved head and a sleeveless shirt. He might have seen a bunch of men with brightly colored turbans walking to a the temple and raged out and decided to kill what he thought were Muslims.

Those are the two most likely scenarios. Other than that, I'll refrain from speculating.

I cannot help but note, though, that the Knoxville UU Church attack was four years plus one week ago.

Man...again? I might just have to go on a vodka-fueled rant about religion again. Just kidding.

Ugh...I was having a pretty good day...

Yeah, remember after 9/11 there were a bunch of incidents with yahoos attacking Sikhs because turban apparently equals terrorist. If I remember correctly, a sikh cab driver got stabbed by an ignorant fare. Unbelivable that that STILL happen 11 years later (of course, that's assuming that it wasn't just another random nutjob).

They are describing the perpetrator as a white male with a 9/11 tattoo who seemed to target males with turbans.

Tragic, but sadly, unsurprising.

Feeling a way about someone is one thing, but the level of selfishness it must take to act this kind of shit out is obsurd. Even though the scumbag got the easy way out and is dead, I still say there's time for a public hanging. Sling his dead ass up there along with that orange haired asshole and everbody else who try's this type of rampage and give the horse a slap on the ass. Fuck court. I work hard for my money and I'm tired of paying for these mother fuckers to eat and be pampered while they laugh in protective custody. What a fuckin joke.

 Another tragedy. The police, FBI and ATF are searching a house in Cudahy. They have evacuated the area around the house and now are searching. Cudahy is a mixed white Mexican working class suburb.

Just minutes after it was reported that people had been shot at a Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, the hate mongers at Westboro Baptist Church were tweeting out: 'God Sent Another Shooter.'

MargiePhelps @MargieJPhelps
God sent another shooter? MT @BreakingNews: Scanner reports indicate people shot at Sikh Temple,Oak Creek,Wisconsin

According to a tweet from Fred Phelps, the leader of the so-called church, the shooting was punishment for the bad treatment his group had gotten in Wisconsin.

Fred Phelps Jr @WBCFredJr
Beautiful work of an angry God who told Wisconsin to keep their filthy hands off his people (WBC)! #godsenttheshooter!

The Phelps clan recently threatened to picket the memorial vigil for victims of the Aurora shootings and have been restricted by Congress from picketing the funerals of American soldiers.

First thing that comes to my mind is that maybe americans are just too dumb to own guns.

Then I think ,No.

Maybe americans are just too dumb to be free.

I wonder if anyone is going to have the guts to call this terrorism.

Local PD and the FBI have.

If that building was a "really" a church, hate crime laws kick in, Feds have to be there.

I imagine the local field office had agents on the ground pretty quick.

The FBI fas been called in as they are calling it domestic terrorism. There is speculation that this is a case of mistaken identity and he thought he was shooting Moslems. If that is the case he is a true idiot. The major street out of Cudahy to connect with the highway goes past the largest Mosque in Wisconsin. This could have been a case of hate filled insanity mixed with ignorance and stupidity. This wouldn't be the firts casse of a hate filled yahoo (who probable calls himself a Christian) could not identify the target of his hate. he just knew they weren't like him. May God save us from the "Christians".

Learned about this on my more conservative MDShooters.com site.....Made me want to scream...5 pages of comments all questioning why the media shows this and questioning the morals of those folks reporting it and why it will be used to take away our rights....F that man...people lost their lives...sad day in America.

I spent my childhood in Oak Creek, worked there for years in college, still spend a lot of time there. It's a "sleepy" suburb but, it's not even the first crazy shooting spree there, just the worst.

Unfortunately this sort of thing doesn't unite anyone, it only serves to divide us further.

Sad, very sad. :weep:
Having lived in Silicon Valley, I have worked side by side with many Sikh engineers. They were always some of the nicest, most trustworthy people that I have ever had the honor of working with.

Another nut that uses guns "the wrong way".
It is starting to become tougher and tougher for even the most extreme right wing politicians to support the basically unrestricted interpretation of the 2nd amendment that we have today. And I am sure that most Liberal gun owners are not in agreement with the current way that the 2nd amendment is being implemented (Yes I'm thinking of you CowboyT).

You may not agree at all with the Brady group, but this powerful yet simple message that they published today will start to be listened to, grow in strength and acted upon, more and more:

"There have now been 61 mass shootings since the tragedy last year in Tucson and 100 school shootings since the one at Columbine High School. Tomorrow, another 32 Americans will be murdered by guns.

The American people from across the political spectrum are calling for solutions. We know that we are better than this."

My thoughts are with the families of those that were randomly killed today. May they somehow find peace and start to recover quickly, and whatever the outcome, may the loss of innocent life today not be utterly meaningless.

Is there anyone reading this site that has NOT heard some bigot say, "They're all the same to me."?
