How can we gin up for war so easily?

Without the Media.

Free speech. Radio and Television were not even imagined by those who wrote the first amendment.

We used to have a thing called "The fairness Doctrine"

The people of the US own the frequencies in the broadcast realm.

The Networks do not own them.

We're screwed by our legal contradictions.

Ronnie "the clown" Reagan got rid of the fairness soctrine. Do you realize that if he didn't Rush would have to put up with some damn liberals contradicting his edicts. Fox news couldn't be fair and balanced. Where would we be without these echo chambers. Ronnie provede that public ownership of the air waves got in the way of the magic of the market place. Don't you believe in magic? Do you want all those people who listen to Rush etc be confused and unsure of themselves. Even liberal commentators would have to put up with someone challenging teir assertions. Let us be thankful that Ronnie saved us from the horror of having to entertain different points of view. That might have made the war in Iraq difficult or impossible as well as other noble efforts.

Terrorists would exist without the media. Assassinations are as old as the hills and were written about in the ancient world. The media makes for such a show now though.
