77Banning ClassicLiberal would make this no different than the other gun forums that do not tolerate opposition to the prevailing opinions.
I suggest treating it like any other internet forum and "Don't feed the trolls." Eventually he'll go away when he realizes we aren't paying him any attention.
CL - you might help your own case by supporting your opinions; instead of just opposing everyone else's.
I must say, though - I find it the height of irony that your posts in this thread have changed your status from "New Member" to "Helpful Contributor."
At least you've given me my first laugh of the day.

78Nobody gets banned from this forum for their opinions, just behavior. The only viewpoints we ban for are overt racism/homophobia/misogyny.Aztex999 wrote:Banning ClassicLiberal would make this no different than the other gun forums that do not tolerate opposition to the prevailing opinions.

79The problem with the "concerned" is that they pee on the rug yet expect to be welcomed by us compassionate liberals. With open arms. Happily led into glennbeckistan. That's not even a little bit of an answer.
By what mechanisms should government "protect" your "rights"? Which rights are worth protecting and for whom? Should I be forced to pay for the protection of your rights? Is that an infringement on my rights?
There are basic responsibilities we call upon government to provide and are required to pay for these services through various taxes.
I'd prefer a method in which it were completely voluntary, and those that choose not to participate do not get to utilize any of the services those funds cover. It opens the door to free market competition, whereby, a private security company may do a far better job patrolling my neighborhood, than a government paid LEO does.

I am certainly no fan of Glenn Beck. He lets any bit of intelligence he has become clouded with his religious ideology.

83Certainly better than either Obama or Romney. Gary Johnson would also be a good choice.Inquisitor wrote:Ah, and the privatization shoe drops.

86Maybe. I think that regulation is a solution to many problems.
Still wrong forum for you.
What exactly were you expecting? Did you just google us and figure "nah, they couldn't be bleeding hearts, they like guns"?

I think this forum was emailed to me from a query about firearms.
I found a few of the threads interesting and thought I could contribute.

If you are for supporting the U S Constitution, you should not advocate government as a solution to any of our problems.
There are plenty of compassionate people and organizations that have in history, always taken care of those less fortunate.

90Should court decisions be enforced by someone?ClassicLiberal wrote: The Courts is one tool used to protect my rights. All rights are worth protecting for all people.

What basic responsibilities are on your list?
Does all rights for all people include the right to discriminate based on race if that is one's preference? Does it include the right to a safe place to live? Does it include the right to eat? Does it include the right to engage in collective action without the threat of violence?

91Classic Liberal,if it helps your perspective any I came here with the intention of being a troll and admitted it to the admin, they didn't ban me and let me hang around long enough to learn a few things,I thought I was conservative and still am on a few things but I also found I was a quite liberal on a quite a few too.

Does all rights for all people include the right to discriminate based on race if that is one's preference? Discrimination is not a right. Sounds more like an infringement to me.
Does it include the right to a safe place to live? Yes, so long as that place is either purchased, leased, rented...etc. it does not mean forcing others to provide a place for someone else.
Does it include the right to eat? Yes, if the food is purchased or given. Taking from one to feed another is theft.
Does it include the right to engage in collective action without the threat of violence?

I came on here with the pure intention of having good conversation with individuals that are not like minded. I can't hang out with republicans, as they call me a liberal if I disagree with anything Romney supports. I think mostly, it is because they don't know what a classic liberal is and assume it's progressive.Vodkin wrote:Classic Liberal,if it helps your perspective any I came here with the intention of being a troll and admitted it to the admin, they didn't ban me and let me hang around long enough to learn a few things,I thought I was conservative and still am on a few things but I also found I was a quite liberal on a quite a few too.

example:
Court says discriminating against me for purposes of employment is illegal, yet 90% of the population either wants to discriminate or fears the loss of business that would be caused by failing to discriminate against me.
How am I protected in your market-driven fantasyland? Who will volunteer to pay to protect my rights?
Re: This makes me sick. It's too sad.
100You would file a lawsuits against them and prove your case and then receive compensation for their violation of the law. There are law firms that will work your case on a contingent basis. Normally, the defendent would pay you.Fukshot wrote: example:
