Chicken Nuggets
Re: I just learned today that Chick-fil-A is a real company
27But it would be haute cuisine if it was salmon instead of chicken and called "croquettes" instead of "nuggets".
Notably, he also heard about mechanically separated beef being processed with ammonia (a gas) to kill bacteria and demonstrated that by mixing ground beef with household (aqueous) ammonia.
Not that I'm a proponent of processed meats, but his demonstrations are misleading at best.

28+1 for great option with kids. It's light years beyond McDonald's. But now it's off my list of options.
If you are living in Portlandia, it was never an option in the first place:

If I hear "crony" capitalism one more time I'm going to be ill. Capitalism is capitalism, dog eats dog and one dog ends up on top, and he defends that place with all the power he's accumulated.

31No fast/fat food and no TV? Gasp, I need my added poundage to hold my MN steady and after eating some fat fried nuggets, wiping my hands on all the moving parts and a wipe for the bore makes the MN shine!
Reminds me of this other christian church driven restaurant called Seminole Winds. I knew they were religious but they never shoved it in our throats until one day, as we were paying, there was this big ol poster board outlining their opposition to abortion under all circumstances. Never ate there again and they have closed.
So Cick-fil-a is now off my fat list!

'Queer-Hatin' Cordon Bleu' Goes On Sale Wednesday

More hereATLANTA—As part of its recent efforts to publicly align itself with fundamentalist Christian values, the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain announced today the debut of its new Queer-Hatin' Cordon Bleu sandwich that would be on sale in all of the company's 1,600 restaurants this Wednesday.
In a press conference to reporters, company representatives said the homophobic new sandwich will include the national fast food chain’s trademark fried chicken filet wrapped in a piece of specially-smoked No Homo ham that would be topped with a slice of Swiss cheese and lathered in a creamy new Thousand Island-based Fag Punching sauce.

33have any of the franchisees started lawsuits against HQ or dan? That sort of publicity has to be horrible for business even if you yourself aren't a raging homophobic asshole.

34'No Homo'

In a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich the chicken and cow are involved while the pig is committed.

35My liberal viewpoint on this is that the CEO's free speech rights should be protected and defended. Too many "libs" are busy being Orwellian thought-crime police, and the nutcase teapotters are right to point it out.
An even more liberal viewpoint would be that the CEO should be admired for not being afraid to put his company's fortunes on the line by stating his values publicly.
Meanwhile, my liberal wallet will stay in my liberal pants as I pass the CEO's restaurant since money is speech, and my money is just as important as his speech.

36Sure, the CEO can say whatever feels good but why would a person take a product and tie it to a non-product that has the potential to chase away a portion of the buying market?Redbird wrote:My liberal viewpoint on this is that the CEO's free speech rights should be protected and defended. 38I will just fry my own damn chicken. Tastes better, and cheaper anyway.
But it is seriously hard to find a fast- food chain that is not controlled by giant douchebags. Jimmy John's just went through an ugly bout of union busting up here and Baja Cafe is run by a Teabagger.
I guess the best strategy is to target the assholes who go beyond the usual corporate feudalism to engage in social prejudice.
