Zimmerman drops a dime on god

Hannity asked what Zimmerman would say to those who jumped to conclusions and said the shooting might have been racially motivated, to which Zimmerman replied, “I’m not a racist, and I’m not a murderer.” Hannity then asked Zimmerman if he regretted getting out of the car that night or carrying a gun. “No sir,” Zimmerman responded, later clarifying that “It was all God’s plan.”

You guys are in top form today! I'm always more than a bit skeptical of people who think their whole lives and actions are planned out- the old predestination schtick- so they can't be blamed for anything. God made them do it. If you could look in their ear you'd see a sign saying "Space for Rent". They're easily programmed by cults and extremists. And it scares me to think how many MILLIONS of them are in this country, legally able to buy guns (we won't discuss procreating and voting- does us no good.).

Now if Zimmerman would just let go and let god, we could be done with this whole thing.

God was trying to talk to him when he was on the phone with the Dispatcher. Now, he's reaping the whirlwind. Dumbass left his truck.

BYW, Jesus fulfilled Mosaic Law so Leviticus' writings and most of Mosaic Law beyond love thy neighbor are taken care of already.

Acknowledging that most people on this site are not religious and scorn religion, theologically, you are right. Christ said as much when he said he was the fulfillment of the prophecies and the law. He kept the following of the commandments but summed them up in his two "great commandments" and switched thing up from retribution to forgiveness, mercy, and love.

Most Christians do not acknowledge the switch. You aren't really allowed to hate anyone if you follow Christianity. You are supposed to love everyone, serve all, and be an example of God's love. People conveniently forget that and revert to the Old Testament when it suits their mood.

I try to live by the idea that what we call fate/destiny is just the accumulation of everyone's decision making. The only thing we have some control over is our own decision making. Zimmerman decided to get out of the car. He decided to carry a firearm for his "Neighborhood Watch" duties. He decided that young Black men were suspicious, and he decided that it was up to him to create a confrontation. Finally, he decided that he needed to shoot an unarmed young man. He made his choices, now he has to face up to the consequences.

Clearly, this god character isn't getting invited to any of my dinner parties.
The idea of you having dinner parties kinda scares me :)
Stop! You're making me blush!

That accumulation sounds very much like what the Kagyu lamas (Tibetan Buddhists) described as karma. Zimmerman didn't demonstrate much mercifulness that night, that's for sure. What he expected to accomplish by stalking Martin is beyond me, but then I was never much for intimidating people, save for being on a basketball court. Martin was obviously not engaged in a crime, unless being the object of another's suspicions is so. In the end, Zimmerman may very likely walk but this event will haunt him the rest of his life.

I don't know much about Zimmerman personally, but if you read prepper boards, some other gun boards, and the comments on pretty much any politically-oriented website, there seem to be an awful lot of people whose sometimes legitimate concerns are magnified, reinforced in a closed loop, and eventually descend into a full-blown paranoia, replete with racist, mysogynist, and religious overtones.

Maybe after the fact of unwarranted violence-- the overreaction: other alternatives, other views, and other assessments of the situation are possible, but remember the Bene Gesserit ... fear is the mind-killer.

I would love to attend a dinner party at Fukshot's house. And I imagine I would be the one blushing. :)

Absurd.
God tried to kill Abraham, but couldn't catch him.
It has bad days, too.

I listened to Mike Malloy describe Hannitys interview with Zimmerman. Very deep ignorance in those two.
