We are helping out a friend who's husband has Parkinson's and Chron's disease. He may not be around by next year. He can barely speak but he can still play the piano with braces on his fingers. We are staying at his home.

He's a former Indiana Judge, Ragtime piano player, Pilot, Sailboater, Kayaker, Golfer.

Many people are referring to their jobs as gigs.
As far as it being an anachronism, it looks like it's spreading.
Doesn't come with health care though.

In the old days Petrillo's musician's union actually did have benefits. Nowadays with pervasive Tea Party greed, hardly any jobs have benefits, except for top management.
