If you are stopping in Flag in the summer we finally have a range.
A shooting range southeast of Flagstaff will open to the public on July 7, offering sporting clay shoots, women-only events, hunter education and training for law enforcement.

The Northern Arizona Shooting Range is partly completed at a cost of roughly $2 million to date, with some roads and ranges still under construction.

A sporting-clay field with multiple shooting stations, a 50-yard range and a 100-yard range are all largely completed.
Plans for a trap and skeet area, an 800-yard long distance rifle range, a 100-yard archery range, a clubhouse and some 30 recreational vehicle spots are next.

Yep,

It's all LA. How can you tell when you've driven out of San Gabriel and into Monterey Park or Alhambra? Beats the crap out of me! I grew up on West Covina, CA and La Puente, CA. Spent months at a time in Chula Vista, CA. Moved up to Santa Monica, CA for school. Moved up to the Central Coast in 1996 and have lived in Boulder Creek, CA Aptos, CA and Santa Cruz, CA. That is why I am Caliman. No plans to live outside the state at this point.

I enjoyed the time I lived in Bernalillo, but couldn't take that endless tan landscape after a while. Still love visiting NM, just can't afford to live in the green part.

That's true about green vs tan. We bought some desert land west of Taos decades ago for a song. Since then some sort of evergreen has slowly spread across the area. I was joking that if the trees were there at the time we bought it we couldn't have afforded it.

Yeah, If you like green, you ain't gonna like it anywhere normal folks can afford to live. The damndest thing is NM was ALL like the high mountains until the Spaniards came about 400 years ago. They burned off the scrub, hoping to turn the flatter parts into pasture. Instead, when they eliminated the ground shade, they eliminated the only thing holding the water near the surface, and it all turned into desert. You want to see man-made climate change? Look at most of New Mexico today. You can walk out on the mesa a little ways from my house and find burned off stumps of what were fair sized junipers and cottonwoods a few hundred years ago. Nowadays, when the "monsoons" come, there's not enough vegetation to shade the ground, and all the water evaporates away in a very short time.

I've travelled a bit but have only lived in a few places. They are:
New York, New York (Born there)
Coudersport , Pa (The opposite of NY population about 2000 in the mountains near NY border. Whole county had less that 4000)
Newtown, Conn. Saw it go from rural to suburban
Beloit, Wisconsin , one summer in Minoqua northern Wisconsin archaeological survey (I worked after I dropped out of college and until I got a government job with a funny green uniform)
Fort Belvoir, VA, ( skipped Fort Bragg as only there for Basic)
Ford Island Hawaii, (In the middle of Pearl harbor and army base surrounded by the Navy and guarded by the Marines)
Northern Luzon, the Philippines (attached to the Philippine army up dating maps in Illocos Norte. Illocos sur, Abra, Benguet and other provinces, no more than a week in any place town)
Ford Island, Hawaii
Washington, D.C. ( one summer in the Delaware Water gap working for the New Jersey State museum)
Milwaukee, Wi. (while in school here two summers in East St Louis on and archaeological dig in East St. Louis) arrived in 1971 and planned to leave by 1974. Missed my deadline but phasing out now.
