Okay, I know from some of the posts a few of you are not in favor of supporting President Obama, that is your call ! All I ask is we all consider the consequences if the Mitt gets in and the house and senate is controlled by the teaparty.

The Obama administration has not been perfect by any means, we all know that ! But it is a far site better than what we had and what we will get if the right take control again.

We are not children and we can not get our way on ever issue. We all know how politics are played and it will always be that way.

With the freedom of the poor and middle class riding on this election PLEASE consider the consequences we all face. Our president has been a good leader in most cases and has got a lot done, even with his hands tied by the house of right wing red necks.

So please consider this ! Obama he is our last chance..... thanks Irish OH YEA FECK BECK.................................................

US election 2012
Image
This is a US election that defies logic and brings the nation closer towards a one-party state masquerading as a two-party state.

The Democratic incumbent has surrounded himself with conservative advisors and key figures — many from previous administrations, and an unprecedented number from the Trilateral Commission. He also appointed a former Monsanto executive as Senior Advisor to the FDA. He has extended Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, presided over a spiralling rich-poor gap and sacrificed further American jobs with recent free trade deals.Trade union rights have also eroded under his watch. He has expanded Bush defence spending, droned civilians, failed to close Guantanamo, supported the NDAA which effectively legalises martial law, allowed drilling and adopted a soft-touch position towards the banks that is to the right of European Conservative leaders. Taking office during the financial meltdown, Obama appointed its principle architects to top economic positions. We list these because many of Obama's detractors absurdly portray him as either a radical liberal or a socialist, while his apologists, equally absurdly, continue to view him as a well-intentioned progressive, tragically thwarted by overwhelming pressures. 2008's yes-we-can chanters, dazzled by pigment rather than policy detail, forgot to ask can what? Between 1998 and the last election, Obama amassed $37.6million from the financial services industry, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. While 2008 presidential candidate Obama appeared to champion universal health care, his first choice for Secretary of Health was a man who had spent years lobbying on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry against that very concept. Hey! You don't promise a successful pub, and then appoint the Salvation Army to run it. This time around, the honey-tongued President makes populist references to economic justice, while simultaneously appointing as his new Chief of Staff a former Citigroup executive concerned with hedge funds that bet on the housing market to collapse. Obama poses something of a challenge to The Political Compass, because he's a man of so few fixed principles.

As outrageous as it may appear, civil libertarians and human rights supporters would have actually fared better under a Republican administration. Had a Bush or McCain presidency permitted extrajudicial executions virtually anywhere in the world ( www.amnesty.org/en/library/info/AMR51/047/2012/en ), expanded drone strikes and introduced the NDAA, the Democratic Party would have howled from the rooftops. Senator Obama the Constitutional lawyer would have been one of the most vocal objectors. Under a Democratic administration however, these far-reaching developments have received scant opposition and a disgraceful absence of mainstream media coverage.
I respectfully decline your invitation to play on your team.

The Puritopians won't listen Irish. Just work with your ward & GOTV. It's all we can do to fight the fascists without wasting time on the puritopians.

Nothing like inventing a handy slur to dismiss all the concerns of anyone who disagrees with you.

Watch, I can do it too: I'm tired of arguing with Obamatons, and so I won't.

Have fun hoping for change.

FECK BECK! indeed. I can't envision myself voting "R" in any election, but because both candidates share something so polarizing (healthcare) in common, my cynicism bolts to the forefront of whatever brain cell produces my political opinions. I find myself nodding my head in agreement with the people saying "Vote Obamney".

I got your back. The Irish are stickin' together.

Go n'eirigh do bothair leat'

My friend with MS would likely be homeless without Obamacare.

That's enough for least my vote.

If a person can find NO ONE in their circle of friends or relatives who was helped by it, then they need to get out more and make more friends.

Nader gave us Bush more than Florida.
Rocky Anderson can give us Romney.

You're not really voting Obamney, your voting for goldman sachs, That is who wins this election.

Now please someone tell me what option stops the plane from crashing? I'd like that option, but I don't see it. Because Obama is still a crashing plane.

Jesus, the republican pitchfork really is scaring everyone to voting for the corporatists. Here's an idea instead of begging and pleading for those of us fed up with this shit to vote for the wolf in sheeps clothing, maybe you should have been begging and pleading the Obama administration to actually not do the shit that's pissed us off.

Maybe when you have a real job you will actually see the difference between a republican and democratic administration. Perhaps its just in my line of work there are differences that are noticeable, subtle, but noticeable. I wish you luck in finding whatever true socialist agenda you are longing for gendo.

It never fails to crack me up when my Conservative buddies bemoan the fact that their side isn't as organized and solid a block as those of us on the left.

I do get Irish's stance, the GOP is a bunch of idiots and street crazies. I have a hard time morally getting excited by non-write in candidates for Federal positions. When the only Nay vote on the NDAA 2012 came froma deadbeat dad GOPer the next state over, I do not feel that any of my employees in Washington really have my best interests at heart.

I don't vote party line, I vote for my best interest. Neither of the Federalist candidates have that at heart. One treats corporations like people and the other is an out of touch multi-millionaire.

I do wonder why that is, why people who back shitty candidates get mad at the people who don't back shitty candidates, and not at the shitty candidates. Go to any right wing forum and you'll see the same arguments being had about Romney.

It's not like changing the things we're pissed off about would even be that hard or that politically risky. Any competent politician could do it if he actually desired. Obama declared he'd pick and choose which laws he'd enforce when it came to immigration, and that doesn't enjoy nearly the broad bipartisan majority support that polls show for ending marijuana prohibition. We had three years of Obama supporters telling "He can't just do whatever he wants to and ignore the law!", and then he decided to do something he wanted to do and ignore the law. Ha!

Party loyalists are like white blood cells. They'll attack anything they perceive as foreign, whether it's a heart transplant or an infection, whether they're killing the body or saving it.

I have a real job, and have for years now, and was in the military for years before that, and I don't really see a huge difference between the Republicans and Democrats. But I'm sure you'll find some other way to dismiss my concerns. Maybe adopt a catchy slogan like wleswii has.

Really pisses me off when people dismiss someone's viewpoints because they're young. The older generations really haven't accomplished much more than to get us where we are now. Golf clap. We're going to have a lot of fun cleaning this shit up.

Actually I understand the purist vote or the protest vote.
I did the same thing in 1972

Here's some news. The only thing I'm actually afraid of is prolonged, painful death where I'm unable to stop the medical experimenters from using me. I've already lived the Chinese curse, twice. Do you think the Republicans have me scared? Feh!

Perhaps what scares you is your own inability to convince anyone NOT to vote for Obama after months of trying to convince the majority of the people on this forum. I guess the rest of us just don't get it. Good try.

If you think people are begging and pleading with you for a vote, then you must have an inflated view of what your vote will do.

Still not convinced,
G&G
