Re: July 4
2Excerpt:
Ho Chi Minh quoted the American Declaration of Independence in his own and sought support for throwing off his French colonial rulers from the United States, who he assumed would be sympathetic because of our history as an exploited colony. Unfortunately, like Fidel Castro, his requests for assistance in establishing independence and freedom were denied and he was forced to seek support from the Soviet Union. The same segment of the Declaration was quoted by the Black Panther Party and they too were seen as an enemy by the US government.
Funny how we historically have no interest in helping nations/groups full of non-white folks. Hmmm

4You're a touch off there Pax. We have no interest in helping people unless we can get something out of it. See: Saudi Arabia.

8If Truman's Secretary of State had not thrown Uncle Ho out, we'd be living in a different world today. On the bright side, the French government wouldn't hate us any more than they have since the 50's.

Given what was revealed in the "Pentagon Papers" and what "W" did in Iraq, we should be living in a different world, however, the Hawks want war at all costs, and don't pay for any of it - blood or treasure..... - - -
Hopefully someday, some friendly beings from somewhere far far away will let themselves known and shock the Hawks enough that they will have an change of heart - but don't count on it......
Every one have a Happy & Safe 4th of July....

10Yeah, that commie Uncle Ho.
Remember when he invaded the US and we had to cross the ocean to stop his vast army?
I love it when someone says "Thank you for defending our freedom."
Me. "Yeah that Ho Chi Min was going to tear up our constitution. I'm glad you wanted to share. Now you can share my guilt over 1,000,000 dead Vietnamese and over 58,000 dead Americans."
