6More like a strong fondness. I would spend more time shooting, but life gets in the way. I don't tend to name objects, but the GP100 is "M'Gun." My bike named herself. I grew up on a farm, so, to put this into perspective, my grandpa had about twenty beagles--- most didn't have names. We had about fifty barn cats--- none of them were named. Later, my step dad raised fox/coon hounds (Walkers) and he only had 3-4 names that he used on all of them! We didn't name cows, chickens, or hogs. If a device or object speaks to me, I might name it. The Scion has no name, unless you count "the grey box." My wife's Corolla might have a name; I'll have to ask her. My current favorite gun is an 1858 Remington black powder revolver--- no name, but it's a lot of fun to shoot! I call my Savage 110 .30-06 "the Nailer." I don't have a name for my Norinco JW-15, unless you count "JW."

9I find that I gotta let my gun cool off before I can 'love' it. No, I won't tell you which .22 is 'the' one.

10Love is a pretty strong and more often than not misused term, like hate.

15You know, one of the major ingredients in Hoppe's is amyl acetate. That's better known as banana oil. I'll just leave that fact lying around waiting for the wrong interpretation.Xela wrote:

24I love my Dan Wesson, my Marlin 336, and my Mosin M44. But I like my other guns.
Re: Do you love your firearms? Really? Really?
25Truth be told, I only "love" the guns that I've made. I double my pleasure by handloading for those rifles to give me the best groups. To me, rare is the better feeling than shooting a gun I made and hitting exactly what I aim at time after time. Also, truth be told, sometimes I'll take out the ones I've finished with pine tar just to smell the mix of pine tar and Hoppe's...
