Fun with FedEx

Computer died about 10 days ago...bought a replacement, which shipped on the 26th, was scheduled, according to FedEx tracking, for delivery the 29th.

At the end of the day, having hung around all day to sign for the bugger, I called FedEx to see what was up...they said it was scheduled to be delivered July 2...even though their tracking site said the 29th...they had no answer for the discrepancy...not that they didn't know, they just wouldn't answer the question. Though after the phone call they changed the scheduled date on the website! They're smart!

Getting late in the afternoon today (the 2nd) so I check FedEx tracking again...says it's been delivered and signed for by someone named JFJTEAEG. Except it ain't here.

Called their wonderful customer service and asked them. They say "it was delivered at 2:35 today." I tell them that "no, it wasn't" and asked what address they delivered it to...they told me...turns out it's an address across town.

They are now promising to have it to me by 5:00...except I am not going to accept it if it even looks like it was opened by someone else.

UPS can't buy this kind of advertising.

The tracking numbers and monitoring system are the best when all's right. When they aren't its just a nightmare and no one wants to talk about it. :shh:

USPS unless it's something they won't do, then it's UPS. They only do the knock & run even for ammo or C&Rs requiring an "adult signature"; FedEx always seems to want to have a drop kick in there somewhere. No. Just no.

I buy my ammo through Mastercast Bullets. They ship fed ex and I have not had problems but I do have a compliant. They just drop the ammo off on my front porch. It is clearly marked pistol ammunition. No knock on the door, just a thump on the porch and there is my ammo.

Well if this ain't just the shits and giggles hour...

Got a call from my dentist's office asking me why I had a computer delivered to their office!?

No shit...FedEx delivered the damn thing to my dentist, even though my address is clearly marked on all the shipping docs. I have absolutely no idea why or how this happened. I thought the address FedEx had given me sounded familiar.

Anyway, a spiffy new FedEx mini van made a special trip, just for me...

I am not a believer of coincidence, therefore this is a sign that the world is about to end.

bye!

I yearn for the day when FedEx goes out of business.

UPS did the drop and run with about 20 pounds of powder and ten thousand primers on my not-even-vaguely-suburban porch. They have a clear adult signature requirement for hazmat, but they just dropped and ran anyways. I wasn't happy.

FedEx does fine around my neighborhood. UPS, not so much.

We shipped a printer out via FedEx to a store in suburban Dallas. The printer was checked into the Dallas distribution center, was listed as "In Transit", and then never ever went anywhere else from there. We had to send out a new and different printer... via UPS.
