This is distressing. Highway Patrol drug-sniffing dogs were taught to alert to officer's cues, providing an excuse for illegal searches.

In police canine training circles, that's the ultimate in unprofessional douchebaggery.
It's either cops policing cops or an internal pissing contest. I've seen both.

Since the Casey Anthony trial, prosecutors have discovered that dogs don't make particularly reliable witnesses.
