Get around a bunch with GF in her 2008 purple Honda Fit.

I am currently without a motorcycle, but the last one that ran (not the last one I owned) was a 2001 Honda XR650R with street tires, big brakes and a license plate. That was the best bike I ever owned.

Also had a bevy of CBRs, GSXRs, KZs, KLRs, DTs, YZs, CBs. A Moto Morini 3 1/2, a couple of Harleys and a Puch Maxi.

I mostly take the bus and the train these days. A girl gets tired of always having helmet hair.

2012 black Honda Fit Sport (standard transmission). When I drove it off the lot it had 22 miles on it. This is my first car and I had to bust my hump to get the overtime pay to afford the %20 downpayment. I love it though and I love driving standard! Funny thing is I'm using some leave to go get the thing registered and titled today. Pics will soon follow!

I mostly walk, rarely run. Also a major user of public transportation.

Began taking cabs lately when I run out of time and/or can't take a bus/train.

In all seriousness, just throw away the Amal carbs and get Mikunis. It will actually start and run right. Sudco should have ready to go replacements for your application. British bikes are great, but Amal carbs have been a nightmare since back when they were new and age hasn't improved them.

I put a single mikuni onit years ago along with a boyer brandson ignition system, I'm very intimate with this bike and the only time I have ever thrown a wrench across the garage hard enough that it stuck in the wall it was a whitworth.

I've never stuck a wrench in a wall, but I have bounced one 50 feet across the concrete floor of a very big shop, until it stopped by hitting the back of the front counter. The counter guy looked at the customer in front of him and said "That's how much she cares about our customers' bikes being right. It can be frustrating to be a perfectionist." Feel free to bounce diagnostic questions off of me. I was a pretty damn good bike mechanic before I found a job with insurance.

The better half drives a 2011 Corolla and I occasionally drive our 2002 Ranger pickup 4-banger. The pickup is barely broken in with only 52K miles. I put more miles on the motorcycles because they're better on gas than a hybrid (and a hell of a lot more fun). A car to me is nothing more than an appliance.

We drive the '07 Camry XLE for comfort, and when we have our elderly parents on board. It's been a good car, and with that 3.5L engine, it "shits 'n' gits" as my Wife likes to say. We also have an '03 Honda element for every day use. Honestly, the Element is underpowered, but that's the only complaint. It now has 119,000 miles on it, and the only work done on it (besides scheduled maintenance) is replacing a worn strut. Bought it brand new for $20,300 before taxes and fees, and it has proven to be the best, and cheapest car we've ever owned. Too bad Honda has discontinued them. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

1973 - 1953 MG TD I had Verbesan and sons put in a 1968 MGB engine, trannie, hydraulic clutch, rear end and front disc brakes. The engine torqued so much it kept breaking upper motor stabilizer so I went to Joe Factor sales -surplus aircraft parts - in Burbank and got a rose joint. It had a left handed thread.

I used to leave the Porsches at the bottom of the Freeway on-ramp.
At aroud 85, the front fenders caused so much lift that it was unsafe. It had Radials too.

Drove to Toronto for a new life and wasn't allowed to sit in - in the clubs because it was the same Musicians Union as the US (AFLCIO) because I owed back dues in LA, which is why I was moving to Toronto.

Driving back, In the middle of the night I hit black ice and spun out in front of a Semi. I crossed the lane in front of the Big Rig, and the right rear petrol tank and fender, slammed into the guardrail.

We didn't have room in the MG so we had tied an old Electrolux canister vacuum cleaner on the right rear bulb where the exposed tank was, somewhat crushing the Electrolux and saving the tank from rupturing.

Drove it to LA and never replaced the fender. The vacuum worked for years.

1970's something - got a 1969 Volvo
Then a 1969 Ford Station Wagon and started driving as a messenger.

1981 Fiesta First new car. Averaged 250 miles per day without leaving LA. Eat my vapors, cabbies.
Killed the car.

1985 Got a 1979 Chevy Love LUV 4WD Pickup. It was stolen and stripped.

1989 Got a 1974 Plymouth Satellite and that car was fast.
Kept it 12 years
