Ya, these are good.

I saw an ad poll at the bottom (might not be on every page view), asking, "What should Snookie name her son?", and 92% voted "I don't care".

Now THAT restores my faith in humanity!

That there are only 21 of these, and the notion that we need online photos to restore our faith in humanity in the first place, kind of makes me more depressed. I know...Debbie Downer...

Debbie Downer? Not by half. As I was going through the pictures, I was wondering how many of the pictures were given stories that are nicer than the actual context in which they were taken.

The pictures from the gay pride event, for instance. It is true that it happened at a gay pride parade and it is true that those people wore those shirts and the hug happened. I can't fault someone looking at those pictures thinking "wow" and wanting to spread the wonderment (just like I did when I saw the pictures). But scratch beneath the surface of those pictures and you find a group that still condemns gays:

Sadly, while Marin is very coy on his website – sticking to feel-good rhetoric and a nebulous desire to improve relations with the LGBT community – his real views are never far below the surface. His personal blog includes a link to an infamous “pray away the gay” group – the Institute for Sexual Identity at Pat Robertson’s Regent University.

Marin’s allegiances become even more obvious while reading his book Love is an Orientation. Marin is clear that “Bible believing Christians” such as himself who take a “traditional Christian hermeneutical interpretation” of the Bible are “against same sex behavior of any kind.” However, he believes that “love the sinner, hate the sin” (a fully accurate description of his ministry) should be “remove[d] … from our vocabulary” because it might cause LGBT individuals to “build up their defenses.”

The Shih Tzu story is from the Daily Mail:

The Japanese story is also a real BBC story (sorry no link at hand).

The Indian kittens story is from sulekha:

In that case, I hope the mostly naked guy from the parade gave him lots of tongue.
