Because anybody who has listened to Rebeca Black has realized that signing truly has the power to make brains explode.
Rebecca Black is a conspiracy of hipsters to make people appreciate real music. It almost worked. I thank her for that.

Sounds like there's enough RPG-folk here fIIor you to tell us the important stuff. Goblins? Kobolds? Squish 'em like bugs. Bugbears? Gnolls? Send in the berzerker while the rest of the party makes a break for it.

Jeez, I miss D&D. Anyone here ever play Car Wars?

They're a fun flamboyant swashbuckling class that combines combat with support.

You should play Pathfinder through the Pathfinder Society. It's perfect for working grownups who don't have a lot of time to play. Regularly scheduled single-session modules near you. Every other saturday I show up at 3PM and usually we're done by 6. You get a set amount of rewards for each session, so you don't have any problems with missing a session or two. And you can get all the source material for gaming for free. And the version never changes; regular D&D went from 3 to 3.5 to 4 and now they're playtesting 5th, but this will always be 3.75.

I recommend it for anyone.

Nobody asked the alignment of his PC...

There are some fun online tools to facilitate tabletop games, including D&D.

I can probably point people at those resources if they care.

Even good-aligned, unless diplomacy was a specific requirement of my religion, if people are acting like hostile enemies, I wouldn't hesitate to act. If you're rolling initiative, it's combat time.

My cleric of Sarenrae is supposed to try to redeem people, so he will try to talk people out of combat, and once he or his group knocks an enemy below 0HP (so, when they start bleeding and dying and are unconscious), he will use his Rebuke Death ability to keep them from dying. But that's a specific part of who he is and what his deity expects.

They tended to be more powerful that other members of their party because they already have levels as a fighter and a thief, and because they have the higher than usual minimum attributes (Strength 15+, Wisdom 15+, Dexterity 15+ and Charisma 15+, Intelligence 12+ and Constitution 10+.). They are a sort of "combined forces" unit in one player. Also, except for the thief, it is the only class in which a non-human was not limited in their advancement levels.

I remember when I started half-elven Captain Coyote as a bard, when I finally rolled attributes high enough to make him. Cappy had a pet Golden Retriever that was actually a Bronze Dragon. A gift from Thor.

What edition was that?

Plus, I usually only play point-buy ability score system, less crippling/overpowered :D

First edition AD&D. In a point-buy system, you usually can't get that many attributes that high. Unless you have a give-away GM. Then everybody is "special."

In Pathfinder Society sanctioned play, your options are as follows:
16, 14, 13, 12, 10, 10
16, 14, 14, 12, 10, 8
15, 14, 14, 13, 10, 10
15, 14, 14, 12, 12, 9

It forces you to make hard choices, and since everybody has the same standard to meet, everybody is on equal footing. Of course, judicial application of racial modifiers can get you up or down even more.

Overall, I prefer this way.

Do not take the lords name in vain. Praise be to he, the giver of army wide force weapons, and terminator troops without special characters. Amen.

Captain Coyote prefered his Vorpal Longsword.
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

If you bang a shield around my bike, I shoot. I 'stand my ground', my Harley is my 'castle' , and I have no fucking idea what you are talking about here. My games involved flags and sneaking around on campus at night when not getting laid.

Of course it is not hostile.

To this day, that is simply what is customary for patriots to do when showing their support at peace rallies, for Planned Parenthood, gay marriage, etc.

The friends that I played D&D with 30 years ago now play Battlefield 3 multiplayer online with me. We seem to have less issues determining whether the intent of our enemies is in fact hostile.

Alright, then shove it into the nether regions of the Hive Fleet that ate the Squats.

Damned bugs. GM used his army of those purple bastards to infest the tomb we just fled. Damned things are larger than war horses as compared to 4th ed figures, and some of them spat acid destroying my leather armor much like in Aliens.
