Congratulations on graduating from High School.

Something I obviously avoided.

That's why I played CCR tunes for drunks in nightclubs.

Still play for the drunks but they are not so drunk and the tunes are older than I am.

When I was your age I was a vet. I didn't even know the difference between liberal and conservative but I liked that Texan, Johnson.

I suggest you screw everything and catch a tramp steamer to the Orient.
Come back in a few years with some street cred. Then just bum around for the rest of your life.

Congrats. And for your entertainment, a rant.

You jut left high school and you've probably heard (and will hear) about how those were the best years of life. Plodding the hallowed grounds, hanging with friends, and still living at home with your parents. "You will look back at those years fondly and with joy" they'll say.

Fuck those people.

Enjoy college. Enjoy your years after college. Look back fondly but don't concentrate on the past to the detriment of the future. I've been out of high school for a decade this June. I still hate it with a passion only a deep dark pool of rage can sustain (but I try not to think about it). Enough about me...

The one piece of advice I will give: the degree doesn't confer knowledge. Try to actually learn the shit in class and apply it. If I had, I would have my CCNA/CCDA and MCSE+S+M already. (Yes I know they changed the MS certs.)

And I think I'm done.
