He should have exercised some of that " personal responsibility " I hear so much about from rich folks and their ignorant followers. You know, not join up to fight a war on behalf of the elite and defend their right to rip him off.
( BTW, that was sarcasm. Bitter, bitter sarcasm. )

I dread the next four years, regardless of who's president.

Yup, I feel this guy’s rage and pain. My wife and son are in Virginia while I sit here in Atlanta holding the reins of our house that's underwater. It's been over two years since she left and I've been working for the banksters ever since.
Our house is back on the market, but if it doesn't sell we're considering financial suicide.
We bought well within our budget, made improvements (on our own dime) and didn't take out any other loans, but we’re the ones left holding the bag.

That would be a campaign slogan. Nothing but a campaign slogan. And he didn't even buy us dinner.

It's about the fine print between those two words: "Hope that they don't notice the lack of Change"

+1
a lot of damage can be done in the next four years
and who knows what will happen after that
I didn't feel this leery of our country even in the 70's
"but I was much so much older then, I'm younger than that now"

I gotta go with what the right wingers were saying "hope" you've even got "change" in your pocket. Cause he's giving it all to the banks and MIC.

I prefer "I had Hope, but nothing Changed". Indicates the high level of continuity between the Bush and Obama administrations.

,I like that, even though I didn't vote for Obama it has a good ring to it,the "Hope and Change" slogan was election year bullsit, just like "Yes we can" turned into "But We Won't"

I donated upwards of $300 split between the primary and the general elections, also donated a table and four chairs to the Columbus OH campaign HQ, also volunteered, also had the yard sign and the bumper stickers.
Then I found out I'd been backing a trojan conservative.

Back in 2000, during the election, a friend of mine visited his father up in the nursing home. He asked his dad at one point who was going to win the election and his father replied, "Big money!"
