Thought some might get a kick out of this. My dad as you all know is a city council member, and so far he's voted against privatization of the cities services, and will be voting to raise the millage rate. I'm so proud. I actually pointed this out, hugged him and told him, "I hate to break it to ya, but you're a democrat". He still refuses to accept this.

Hug him regardless, and often, then repeat.
Extra points if you kiss dad. I do it all the time when I see him.
Getting ahead of myself here, but, eh...Happy Father's Day to all dads.

oh I do, I just found this kinda funny. really funny thing is, like most tea partiers is he agrees money in politics is the root of all our problems, which saddens me because if everyone from tea baggers to marxists can agree on that, why the fuck can't we do anything about it?

Enjoy and cherish gendo...
My warmest memories of my father are of the political arguments we would have. He was an Eisenhower republican who started to question during Nixon and was beginning to see the light during the Reagan years when he passed. I have no doubt that he would have disavowed any association with the GOP of today.

My dad and his brother grew up in a Chicago Machine Ward Boss' Best Man's house. They vote anti-Democrat. I asked my dad why he's republican and he told me it was due to being raised seeing the underbelly of Democratic politics and what it did to people. He doesn't care who I vote for as long as I am an informed voter.
