My favorite place in the universe! I lived in Chehalis for about 10 years. Nice little town, friendly people. The forest roads around Mt. Adams & St. Helens are some of the best motorcycle roads around!

As for the Ural, from what I've been reading, I'd want a satellite locator before I took it out too far (and a lot of water in the sidecar.) Been reading about how many of them breakdown on the way home from the dealership. . .
I had a 2000 Ural "Bavarian" 650cc for a number of years. Made quite a few long-distance trips with it without major incident.

Once I removed all the crap done to it in the name of the EPA & DOT (Electronic ignition, over-sized Kehien CV carbs, etc) it was quite a reliable and pleasurable beast.

The current ones however have lost their appeal to me for the most part... they no longer have all 3 interchangeable wheels, funky disk brakes, and most of all a really outrageous price tag! My whole rig cost me only about $6k in 2000!

My 2007 Indian Bullet OTOH, has been dead reliable. Much better than my 2001 model was.
