The bayonet collection--I couldn't fit it all in.

I have a few extra I need to weed out. But this is also like a strip tease, because you see some stuff but can't see the other stuff. These drawers also have a top compartment where I put my extra scopes and things I don't get out very often. Then I can set stuff on top of it--if I remember to pull the drawers out a tad. Otherwise they're locked. Must remember... These drawers added a slug of organization. Plus, it's zesty. Husky--whatevs. Price was right. Each drawer has like five to seven.

But having the bayos now where I can get at them real quick, now I can tie ID tags to them with their particulars and which rifle they're intended for. Some extras will emerge and I'll have to peel them off to make way for other stuff. Also makes everything easier to play with.

Oh, and I collect screwdrivers.
I wouldn't put salt that close to the gun and screwdriver!

...actually reminds me of back when I lived in colder climates. Friend of mine left an open bag of road salt for his driveway near his motorcycle in the garage for a while. Wasn't touching it but I guess the humidity picked up salt and deposited it on the bike because it had some bad corrosion on that side when he took it out in spring...

Yeah, teaser, you don't show just some leg and collar bone. Sheesh.

Sorry, I forgot to mention Irishman made this rig for my 1911. Yes the front sights catch, but of course that's only a problem in a quick draw situation. After sparing no expense on the 1911 I realized in wanted something more for protection than looks, so I bought a holster that's long enough to protect the muzzle and has a thumb break and body guard. Now I don't sweat on it and when I sit I don't worry about damaging the crown or scratching the muzzle. So the .22 American Heritage fits and because of this holster pure beauty the pistol looks good too. Thanks for the compliments and Thanks again Irish!!

The only issue, which is obvious, is that with the dot so far above the bore axis, the POI will vary quickly with target distance.
Well then it'll be all feel and judge of distance. Kind of like archery. The higher you are in the tree the lower you have to aim.

Christ, but I don't even kill bugs anymore.

OK. Here's the stock that little pic came from.

This is from the membership cards thread. This is what happens with pine tar and flamed maple. I don't know whether you all saw this pic buried down in that other thread, so here it is, Turk Mauser round for scale. It's a post-war Czech 98 Mauser in 8 mm.

For those of you who don't know this stock, it went through a fire at Great American Gunstocks down in Yuba City, along with my Frankenmosin stock. This one wasn't burned nearly as badly as the Mosin stock was. This one still has blackened areas inside, like in the well, but none shows outside. It's repaired in several places with maple.
